When we're all little kids we're taught right from wrong but as we get older we start to choose our own path of who we wanna be or wether we wanna be the good or the bad guys. That's why I'm asking myself this question, " what does freedom mean to me". In the dictionary freedom mean "the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint" but to me freedom is more than that. It's when your not afraid to step up when there's no backing down or when you have to make the biggest decision ever that can change your whole life. We all have a mindset wether we're gonna give up or keep going. Martin Luther King Jr. Led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the mid-1950's. To me MLK (Martin Luther King)
Martin Luther King Jr. was the leader of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. The Civil Rights Movement started in 1955 and today in 2016 we are still seeing the same horror that was experienced by black Americans over 60 years ago. Of course,
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is the most prominent leader of the Civil Rights Movement. The Civil Rights Movement was a time when the African-Americans stood up for themselves lead by powerful figures. They were also supported by others who thought that African-Americans deserved their rights. Martin Luther King, also known as King, was the foremost leader. He was a pacifist and believed in change in the United States through peaceful protests, not violence.
Martin Luther King Jr The Civil Rights era was one of the most influential time periods in America, full of many great leaders. These leaders were not only important they were necessary. MLK not only changed the perspectives of people, but also gave people hope and the motivation they needed to keep going for a to create a better future. King was very inspirational for de-segregationists, he had an educated background, and impacted the future of many people.

What is freedom? One may ask. A dictionary definition doesn’t do justice to what freedom means to everyone in their everyday life. The first amendment gave us many of our freedoms. Martin Luther King also helped impact what freedom means to me today.
Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but do whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” Martin Luther King is saying two important reasons that freedom is important... freedom is being able to have the right of education and not being judged on your race. Freedom means having a right to education because having the right to education means getting a job, getting married, and getting to drive.
What does freedom mean to me? According to historyforkids.net, freedom is powerful, and our country's freedom is based on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, which was put into place in 1789. The United States of America had no other choice after the negative treatment from Great Britain’s government to declare its own freedom by writing its own constitution. Freedom is not taking someone's civil rights, restraint to the point of slavery, or the ability to do so. We were born free on this land but are we really free?
Fighting for the Freedom of Others: The 54th Massachusetts Regiment Were the soldiers in the 54th Massachusetts regiment treated with the respect they deserved while fighting for the freedom of America? Or were they still treated poorly by the white men, even though they were fighting for their sake? Though the reason for the war was freedom for America, the outcome would have little effect on how the black men would be treated. They would still be slaves to the other men, and they would not have all of the rights any white man would have. There is little room to argue with the fact that they were not treated as they should have been during their service after reading the journal of their leader, Colonel Robert Shaw.
