What is freedom? One may ask. A dictionary definition doesn’t do justice to what freedom means to everyone in their everyday life. The first amendment gave us many of our freedoms. Martin Luther King also helped impact what freedom means to me today. When I think of freedom the First Amendment comes to my mind. It set the basis to our civil rights. Freedom of speech is a major part of the First Amendment; it helped people voice their opinions without having to worry about anyone standing in their way. Freedom of religion was also a major part of the First Amendment; many people were prosecuted just for believing in something they thought was true. Another freedom we have under the First Amendment is freedom of press and assembly. This freedom
Freedom can have many meetings to many people. Freedom to some may mean to be free in a trapped society filled with rules and regulations. Freedom can be revealed to the naked eye in things such as laws, organizations, and even clubs. Freedom to me is living your life however you choose, wherever you choose, and whenever you choose to do so. Angela Davis had once lost those privileges.
Liberty is being free of restrictions that is set on you for certain beliefs, groups. For example, in California if a frog dies during a jumping contest you can not eat it. That is a restriction has to be payed to enforce. Although it might have seemed reasonable at the time to keep competitors from other frogs in the contest , it now it can give you a chuckle when you read it.
Freedom The idea of freedom can be seen throughout the second Collection of our text book. Freedom can be seen in the end of the speech, “I Have a Dream” by Martin Luther King Jr.
1st amendment The 1st amendment includes freedom of religion, speech, assembly, freedom of the press, and freedom to petition. As you can see there is a big effect that the amendment has on the American people. Without these freedoms our country would not be what it is today. Before these rights came to be, the people were not given freedom to choose what they believe in.
Freedom Collection 2 The idea of freedom can be seen throughout “Collections 2” of our textbook. Freedom can be seen in Martin Luther King Jr's “I Have a Dream” speech when he talks about the bad check.
When talking about an individual’s civil right to freedom, King explains that it is not voluntarily given but has to be demanded by those in which it affects as it is a constitutional and God given right. The laws that impede a man his basic right to freedom are unjust and they have a right as well as the responsibility to break those unjust laws. King describes unjust laws as unmoral and a “human law that is not rooted in eternal and natural law… Any law that degrades human personality is unjust.” (King 6).
Freedom lives and breathes in everything we as Americans do. The freedom we have today reminds me of where freedom does not exist yet. There are many countries where the citizens have heard about our freedom, but cannot experience it for themselves. We can only hope for those people right now, and dream of a world that’s free.
Other being independence, expressing ideas and opinions. Franklin D. Roosevelt the author of the speech,”From The Four Freedoms”, outlines the freedoms. “This nation has placed its density in the hands and heads and hearts of its million of free men and women.” Types of freedom is freedom of speech, religion, association, choose one’s state in life, and life. Liberty is very important to me because it gives you many options for life.
Martin Luther King Jr was a hard working african american he played a big role in securing freedom not just for african americans but caucasians too. From protesting, marches, lifting spirits and showing others that we are all united. He had a dream and he wanted to share that dream and he did. Freedom, the Google describes it as the right to act, speak or think as an individual without restraint. Most Americans see it as a thing we have and they don't acknowledge it. Other counties like North Korea and Iran see it as a thing America takes for granted and what they yearn for. Me personally, I didn't give freedom any thought until recently when I saw in the news where there are some countries that are not allowed on certain websites solely because their government has it banned. When I think about freedom I can see all the privileges I have.
American exceptionalism introduce the United States as free nation with individual liberty. America is exceptional because of the rights given to American people, great justice system. Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think that is given in constitution. Most important that I see is first amendment . It give us rights such as freedom of speech freedom of religion, freedom of press, but it mean different to people, people who are religious they have freedom of religion, I as a Muslim American can pray anywhere as long as it is not effecting anything around me.
Freedom I believe in change, but not all change. I believe in freedom. In the past there have been many protests. Protests are designed to change the way something is, or how a system works to make it more productive for the people who are at the receiving end of this system. Sometimes government situations make the country a very bad place.
Martin Luther King Jr. was such an important figure to people because he represented the pursuit of freedom. He wasn’t just thinking of equality for black people. Je was also considering the liberation of all people, even whites. His words were mesmerizing and more potent than those of who came before him. Martin Luther King Jr. won the hearts of freedom fighters and other people through his beautiful speech and dream of equality.
What is freedom? Is it an absolute right or is it something we can live without it? People born to be free. Throughout history freedom defined differently according to different cultures and different period of time. Freedom shows an alteration cultures to culture.
Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think without restraint, and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. Freedom is the correction to do what he/she wants, live life, and eat what he/she wants. How do we live free? We live free by not judging other people’s freedom rights. Everyone has their own rights.
