The Civil Rights era was one of the most influential time periods in America, full of many great leaders. These leaders were not only important they were necessary. MLK not only changed the perspectives of people, but also gave people hope and the motivation they needed to keep going for a to create a better future. King was very inspirational for de-segregationists, he had an educated background, and impacted the future of many people.
Dr. Martin Luther King´s educated background made him very reliable during the Civil Rights Movement. MLK was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born with the name Michael Luther King Jr, but changed it later in his life (Nobel Prize). His father was a Baptist preacher who was involved in the civil rights movement (Spartacus). He heard a lecture on Gandhi and then researched more about how to revolt without violence. He thought that the ways that Gandhi used in India could work for blacks in the United States as well. King was also influenced by David Thourou (Spartacus). After he visited India in 1957, King was even more set on getting nonviolent protests in the US. That same year, King, joined with Reverend Ralph David Abernathy and Bayard Rustin, went to the Southern Christian Leadership Conference- a group made to lead the civil rights movement, to help discuss the use of nonviolent techniques (Nobel Prize). Martin Luther King Junior is probably the most visible and recognized civil rights leader and activist. King was also born in Georgia, in 1929, but a predominately black and more affluent area than Jackie Robinson. He came from a family of ministers, was well-educated man and is best known for advancing the Civil Rights Movement with nonviolence resistance and civil disobedience. His leadership was greatly influenced by his strong Christian beliefs. Dr. King led the first non-violent demonstration for racial equality; the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955 (Brinkley 684-685, 704).
He connected extrinsically with his audience because of his notoriety and educational experience. King graduated from Boston University with a doctorate in Theology. King’s public notoriety helped him “Change attitudes in the south”, that “benefited all Americans”(212). Thus, as a result of King persuading people he is an activist.
Through history, African Americans have had lack of the same rights as whites. Although slavery ended in the late 19th century, segregation where the new violation of human rights. It became a common term for racial separation. From the busses, water fountains and schools; segregation was inevitably (anywhere). However, the segregation in the US ended in 1964 with help from leaders who fought for blacks rights.

Martin Luther King Jr(MLK).MLK was a revolutionary man that succeeded in gaining freedom for colored people. Although it may seem that MLK always wanted to speak against racism and make sure he changed the world before he left it, that wasn 't always his plan. In fact,he was going to become a lawyer, but then thought that he could be of better assistance if he was a pastor. Many people wouldn 't care if they 're helping others or not; they just care about the paycheck.
Martin was born Michael King Jr, on January Fifteenth, 1929, in Atlanta Georgia. He was named after his father, Michael king, but his father had both of their names changed to Martin Luther King Sr. and Jr. Martin had 2 siblings, Christine and A.D., with Martin being nicknamed M.L. His dad worked as a pastor at a church in his town. He did very well in school, so well in fact He skipped the 9th and 12th grades. He attended Morehouse College when He was fifteen years old. He went through college and decided to become a minister.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a strong supporter of Civil Rights for African American, but also a peacekeeper between blacks and whites. He was a well-educated man and spoke with authority and eloquence when being interviewed and when giving speeches. Dr. King while ministering his congregation saw the injustice of African American people and the prejudice he went through while growing up and raising a family. African American people had been oppressed for years, being treated unfairly and as if they were worth less than a white person. Martian had a dream that one day everyone would be treated equally regardless of race. In 1955 he was recruited to serve as a speaker for the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
Martin Luther King and Transcendentalism Martin Luther King Jr. could be considered one of the more important historical figures in our county’s history. He was the leader of the Civil Rights Movement which took place during the 1950s and 1960s. His “I Have a Dream” speech spurred the end of segregation in our country and the beginning of equality between blacks and whites. Along with being a leader, he was also a Baptist minister, as well as a husband and a father to two sons and two daughters.
This shows how Dr. King is very smart and was able to put together the movement and protests. In King’s senior year of college he decided he wanted to have a career as a pastor. After leaving college King graduated as valedictorian and earned his sociology degree in 1951. His college president Benjamin E. Mays influenced his spiritual education, which king used as a force in social change (Biography, 2018). Using religion as a force was a smart idea because pastors are excellent speakers and they are trustworthy.
Where do we go from here Undeniably, Martin Luther King is a great fighter in American history. He leaded black Americans to fight for eliminating social injustice and racial discrimination. Although he was assassinated before finishing his exception, he exerts tremendous influence on American society. Nowadays, the social status of black American has been improved colossally.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped us realize that segregation and poverty are wrong. He also helped us realize that we should treat people the same. No matter race, color, or gender. He has impacted our everyday lives with the Civil Rights Act and his “I Have a Dream…” speech. He is an important man with an important history.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a great leader before,during The Civil Rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr. had a purpose by giving his “I Have A Dream” speech. King gave the speech August 28, 1963 at the Lincoln Memorial. One of his purposes was to changed some people’s minds about racism. Martin Luther King Jr’s speech was for equality, and justice.
That is the reason why I choose him as a leader. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. His original name was Michael, but in 1934, he changes it in honor of the sixteenth-century German church reformer Martin Luther. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1944. Later on, he followed his grandfather and father’s footsteps and enrolled at Morehouse College.
