What Does Freedom Mean To Me

Freedom can have many meetings to many people. Freedom to some may mean to be free in a trapped society filled with rules and regulations. Freedom can be revealed to the naked eye in things such as laws, organizations, and even clubs. Freedom to me is living your life however you choose, wherever you choose, and whenever you choose to do so. Angela Davis had once lost those privileges.

“When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in he has no choice but to become an outlaw.” Freedom means different things to different people. For some people, it means you have the freedom to go for a walk without getting the police called on you. For some it may mean practicing the religion they choose, or where they work or live. A historical well-known example of freedom is when Rosa Parks sat in front of the bus she was asked to go to the back she refused to.

According to dictionary.com, freedom means “political or national independents”, but in reality it means much more than that. During the revolutionary war, four thousand four hundred and thirty-five lives were lost in order to gain independence and freedom for all Americans. I believe that freedom means that people can express themselves however they want and that they can make decisions for themselves. I think that this is true because people can choose their religion, have the freedom of speech, and can stand up for what they believe is right. Freedom of religion was part of the First Amendment to the Declaration of Independence, which means that people are able to choose their religion and can freely worship.

Freedom plays an important role in our nation, for people have and use their right to it daily. Freedom defines itself as the ability of an individual to live their life however they want, as long as they do not harm or limit the rights of others. Freedom is guaranteed in american culture because of the first amendment in the Constitution. To many foreigners, freedom stands as an important aspect of the American Dream. To Kill a Mockingbird explores the idea of freedom in America during the 1930s, while using bird motifs as various symbols, specifically for freedom.

“With liberty and justice for all” may be the most important concept from The Pledge of Allegiance. What freedom means to me? It means a great deal. Having freedom means that people are not being restricted, and citizens have many privileges. Freedom can mean many things to different people.

Freedom to me is America, as simple as that. On July 4th, 1776 America gained freedom from Great Britain, for this is one of the most important dates in American history.

To many Americans the American Dream is impossible, but to others the dream is a reality. The dream to me means to have three simple qualities while in America, freedom, equality, and success. These three qualities are keen when living in America because they not only proclaim what America is truly about but they are the qualities that make up America. Freedom is an important quality while living in America because it comes with many gifts, like being able to say what you want to say and being able to choose what you want without being told. Freedom isn't just being able to say or express what you want it's also not being enslaved by someone who wants to take over or control your freedom.

Freedom means to have a right to education because having the right to education means getting a job, getting married, and getting to drive.

Never in my life have I been asked this question but after reading the first week’s lectures, it is becoming clear to me. Liberty means I am not a slave, I am free. Liberty means I can make my own decisions, express my points of view, beliefs and opinion. My definition of slavery is simply put as: personal property or belonging to someone else. Liberty means I am not a slave of the government

Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think without restraint, and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. Freedom is the correction to do what he/she wants, live life, and eat what he/she wants. How do we live free? We live free by not judging other people’s freedom rights. Everyone has their own rights.

But we owe this freedom to those who have waged those freedom wars for our country, as well as those who defend our land to this day. This is what freedom means to me. Freedom to me means to act or use something freely. Everyday in America, we take many of our freedoms for granted.
