A study done by authors, Faye Mishna, Marion Bogo, and Jami-Leigh Sawyer, examines student interns and undergraduate student clients who utilized cyber counseling. They were asked to discuss the benefits and challenges that emerged from cyber counseling. The authors stated that the cyber world provides young people with unprecedented opportunities for communication with others both in and out of their existing face-to-face social networks (Mishna, Marion, and Sawyer, 2015). Research has shown that online therapies are more effective and satisfying than face-to-face therapy. Cyber counseling offers greater accessibility and flexibility.

In this article, Ferriter (2009) reveals many benefits from the use of technology in the classroom with our 21st-century learners. The resources and suggestions mentioned throughout this reading will assist teachers in ways to avoid problems and becoming engaging instructors by using technology in innovative ways. What I found was so innovative by this approach was by creating a network of innovative co-learners where collaboration takes place regularly, Ferriter (2009), is able to experiment with digital connections without ever meeting other teachers in person. Not only is this beneficial for students and teachers all over the world, but also simple. What I found was unique and useful was the worldwide collaboration that helps teachers explore skills and dispositions that assisted with the network cooperation by creating shared content.

1) The stakes of our project are the lives of African-American women who are put behind bars for non-violent offenses, specifically drug offenses. We are directing our podcast towards law students who are looking to become public defenders and district attorneys. With that being said, the average public defender and district attorney are not familiar with the lives of the people they prosecute and defend. Nor are most of them familiar with the hardships drug offenses cause African-American families because of The War on Drugs.

The textbook reviewed was Pearson’s World History, The Modern Era, 2016 edition. The textbook and additional programs included were created through collaborative efforts between educators, social studies experts, and students (Ellis & Esler, 2016). The Hazleton Area School is a district that educates a student population of almost 10,900 students. The district employs more than 700 teachers (Hazleton Area School District, 2017). So needless to say the purchase of new text books at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school was an enormous undertaking and a relief for educators to be able to utilize an up to date textbook that incorporates technological opportunities for the student, bringing social studies into the digital era (Sedon, 2017).

This article explores the use of wikis in the literacy classroom. A discussion of the need for using new technologies such as these, an evaluation of wikis in regards to technology standards, example student wikis, and an evaluation of the effectiveness of wikis in the English classroom are provided throughout the article. Article Review: Sherry Sanden and Janine Darragh’s article “Wiki Use in the 21st-Century Literacy Classroom: A Framework for Evaluation” explores the use and effectiveness of wikis in the English Language Arts classroom.

Introduction: Students with disabilities are overrepresented in bullying statistics compared to students in general education without disabilities. This article attempts to spark conversation and create a narrative about why disabled students are more likely to perpetrate or be a victim of bullying than their peers. It presents various studies in order to assess what characteristics could account for these statistics. Abstract and Overview: Studies show that students in special education programs report greater rates of bullying perpetration and victimization than those in general education without disabilities. This article aimed to determine possible predictors for the involvement of these students in bullying.

The increasing popularity of distance education over the past decade, combined with instant access to information online, caused many to wonder if libraries are becoming obsolete. However, libraries not only survived the dramatic impact of the internet and mobile technology, but also embraced and integrated it into their services. By incorporating groundbreaking technological and sociological advances, yet also remembering tradition, librarians are bestowed with the important duty of being the gateway and guides into the world of education and intellectual integration of all classes, races, and genders in our very diverse society. Criteria #2 An article from a website that publishes statistical data, Statista, published an online resource that lists several statistics about the American pharmaceutical industry. The website lays out the information in bulleted topics that include graphs and varying topics. The statistics show that the United States affects the world commerce in pharmaceuticals by representing almost 50% of the total market. The United States exported from 2002 to 2016 approximately 52 billion dollars of pharmaceutical products throughout the world. Statista expects that pharmaceutical costs will continue to rise over the next few years, but some big name drugs however will be made available in the generic versions.

Distance Education Within 21st Century and Its Application to Rehabilitation Education” by Kathryn Dzeken and Doug Man is a really interesting article. The purpose of this study explains how distance education enriches rehabilitation students such as technology and the current models of course delivery. In this paper I will focus on the content by explaining the significance, originality, and interpretation. The author does a really good job by defining a conceptualize definition of distance education.

Article Report “Single Parenthood and Children’s Reading Performance in Asia” is an article written by Hyunjoon Park. In this article, Park examines the gap in reading performances between 15-year-old students that live in single-parent families and, and compares them to other 15-year-old students in intact families. His study compares 5 Asian countries, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand, to the United States. Park wanted to know why the association between single parenthood and children’s education vary across countries. To answer this question, Park collected and analyzed data from the Program for International Student Assessment.
