If a criminal was not caught the people would look down upon the system. In many cases, the deputy will arrest an individual who seems to fit a certain description that they know will lead to an arrest.

Crime is a blemish in almost every society. Criminals and law breakers have been around since biblical times and still haunt societies today. The American Criminal Justice System is in place to attempt to help control criminals. The idea is not to create a perfect society where no crime will be committed, but to contain the crime. Law is present in our daily life and in everything we do. We cannot think a second without law. Whatever we can see around us everything is connected with the law. Sometimes we can see it and sometimes we cannot see but feel it. Law is not just a thing to obey for yourself but making a peaceful society.

In accomplishing this mission, prevention is the first imperative of justice. Crime prevention, however, is a multi-sectoral, multi-disciplinary, and integrated endeavour.
