The employability of nursing care professionals was considered to be high in the previous years, however, in today new challenging world, everyone especially those fresh graduates are in neck-to-neck competition in hunting for a job. In Malaysia, according to Ministry of Higher Education about 24% of graduates were unemployed in 2012. Employability as defined by Minten and Forsyth (2014) is the capability to move self-sufficiently within the labor market to realize potential through sustainable employment. In the other hand, employability according to Yorke (2006) as a unit of achievements, skill, competences, understanding and personal characteristics that enable graduates to get employment so they are successful in their chosen occupation. Nursing is known as a profession that involve theory and skills in delivering health care to the patients. However, private colleges that are mushrooming nowadays had made public doubted on competency and skills from those graduates. Statistics show that 1200 nurses’ graduates were produced by private collage alone even though there are only 1000 to 1500 nursing jobs in private sector in each …show more content…

Communication skills are very essential for nurses as they are the front liner in either public or private hospitals. Indeed, they provide human touch for patients who seeks for medical advice before consulting with the physicians. Communication skills used on a daily basis for nurses to gather information, facilitate patient expression, encourage critical thinking and promote continuity in patient care. Ability to communicate in English, be an active listener and having an oral comprehension are required in workplace situations for nurses to ensure they are at the same par with other health care professional in delivering
