I will rather say more necessary, because health is worth more than learning.” As a result, physical education is both critical and important to the everyday lives of students. The goal of physical education is to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. As a result, the psychomotor domain is obviously the domain that is paid the most attention to in many physical education settings since we are to teach our students the skills that will allow them to live a healthy lifestyle. The psychomotor domain (Simpson, 1972) includes physical movement, coordination, and use of the motor-skill areas. Development of these skills requires practice and is measured in terms of speed, precision, distance, procedures, or techniques in execution. There are seven major categories listed from the simplest behavior to the most complex. However, it varies from Imitation to Naturalization. Likewise, in physical education the psychomotor domain involves movement skills; anything that involves the student moving in some way or the other. It can be as simple as running, jumping, hopping, skipping, twisting or turning. Instruction is given visually through demonstrations, through verbal instructions, and kinesthetically by allowing the students to experience and practice the movements and activities being taught. The first part of the study involved observing child K’s motor and fine motor skills in her home. First, I would observe her motor skills. To get her more excited, I decided to play with her and her sister. At 4 years of age, child K should be enjoying the movements of hopping, jumping, and running while be more adventurous than they were at 3 years of age (Santrock, pg. 158, 2012). Obviously, at age 4, she has already learned how to walk and run on her own.

Prior to conduct my sessions it was established that the general population of the class were proven to be on the associate stage of learning). The associate stage is the learner begins to demonstrate a more refined movement through practice. Now that the learner has had some practice and has identified various stimuli that may occur, they can focus on “how to do” moving on from the “what to do” in the first stage (L. KEITH TENNANT 2004). There were also a few students in our class who were on the first stage of learning known as the cognitive stage. The cognitive stage is the initial stage of motor learning; the goal is to develop an overall understanding of the skill (L. KEITH TENNANT 2004).
