Classical Athens and Han China are different from each other by its size and scope, the types of government, and how philosophers influence their societies. Athens was located in modern-day Greece next to the Mediterranean Sea. China was located in East Asia next to the Pacific Ocean. One factor that distinguishes Athens and Han China are their size and population.

The Hellenistic time period began at the end of the Classical Era; it covers Mediterranean History between the death of Alexander The Great in 323 B.C. and the emerging of the Roman Empire in 31 B.C. The term Hellenistic was used to create a distinct difference from the classical Hellenic period, which came before the Hellenistic period. In the beginning, the city states were weak, disorganized, and their religions/cultures changed vastly due to many years of warfare. Although it seemed that Alexander The Great had immediately changed the empire in many ways, it was not all it seemed. Alexander's empire was rather fragile it was not intended to last very long, perhaps only the length of his life.

During the Achaemenid Dynasty, Persia relied greatly on their military force and easy trade with neighboring civilizations. Unlike Persia, Greece was not as advanced. For about 50 years from 477 to 431 BC, Athens experienced new ideas in the area of intellectual growth and artistic learning.

The contributions of classical Greece are seen in Western civilization in the continuation of the Olympics, in the realistic depiction of subjects in various forms of art, in the development of medical ethics, in the architectural use of columns in the Western building

When in Rome Rome has a better system than Athens in my opinion. Athens citizens have more responsibility and rights then Rome. Rome has more of a family oriented style of citizenship. Athens and rome both honored citizenship in their own ways equally.

The Ancient Greeks were affected in many ways by the things around and in the country called Greece. The geography of the land has had a great influence on Greece and the inhabitants. Throughout the history of Greece, there came more effects to the people who lived there. Some of these effects on the Ancient Greek civilization were positive and some were negative. Most of these effects were beneficial to the Greeks.

There are three main periods of the Greek sculpture: Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic. The Archaic period was the earliest period in Greek Sculpture which started around 600-480 BCE. These works have a stiff and ridged appearance similar to that of the Egyptian sculpture. The Classical period, was between the Archaic and the Hellenistic times 480-450 BCE.

Many of the ancient lands we learn about in school are situated in river valleys teeming with silt that’s just waiting for stuff to be grown in it. This doesn’t make things easy for them, exactly, but, at the very least, that part of their life is taken care of. They can get both water and food from these river valleys they call home, as well as wealth from trading their crops. This was the case for both Mesopotamia and Egypt. Ancient Greece, however, as stated in Document 1, did not have these advantages.

The better system for citizenship between Athens and Rome was the Romans system. In Rome it didn't matter what gender you are you were able to be a citizen. If you were a slave then you couldn't be a citizen no matter what. In Athens the only way you could have been a citizen would be if you are a native adult. People in Athens had a hard time becoming citizens and if they weren't they had to be slaves or work for others.

All in all, Aristotle’s philosophy made an astounding influence. In fact, it is in Aristotle’s Philosophy that Alexander the Great, which the former tutored in 347 BCE, laid down the foundations of the latter’s empire. Throughout Alexander’s rule, the influence of Aristotle, his mentor, can be seen in the former’s skillful and diplomatic handling of difficult problems throughout his career. When Alexander became a king, he had set forth on a Persian expedition to expand his empire.

Sparta vs. Athens To begin with, Athens and Sparta were both famous in antiquity for their legend, cultures and the character of the people. On the one hand, the two poleis share certain obvious affinities, such as language, geographical scope, a common Greek ancestry etc. On the other hand, they were polar opposites in many aspects, from social spheres, political structures, to military might, which I believe there are some hidden depths in these city-states. Hence, let’s look at how did their people obtain the right to participate in public life and make decisions affecting the community, and who held public office first.

The ancient Greek and Ancient Roman are very rich and variable history and culture, but also they had similarities and differences The Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman civilizations had some differences although they are very close to each other. First, they had different social systems; the ancient Greek divided their social systems into five categories: slaves, freedmen, metics, citizens and women , and in the ancient Greek women were not given a position they were like to be less than slaves, but in the ancient Roman civilization they dived into four categories: freedmen, slaves, plebians and patricians, and women were considered citizen if they were not born into slavery, however they were not able to hold any position or vote. Second, The ancient Greek created and developed the three famous classical orders which is Doric, Ionic and Corinthian, On the other hand Ancient Roman took the classical order with making minor differences and created the arch and used it in their buildings.

The ancient Romans and Greeks both began their legacy as a city-state; both of them are Mediterranean cities. Ancient Rome and ancient Greece both played a huge role in historic dynasty yet they are both different. Ancient Greece came to light after researches were made. The empire of Athens only lasted 5 years, where Rome 's empire lasted 500 years. Sculptures, paintings and architecture differ in each civilization.
