I presently find myself at that point in my life where I’m theoretically to decide what I want to do for the remainder of my life. There’s no uncertainty that I will pursue a college education, as that is what is paramount for my future. Malcom X once said “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” My ultimate goal is to acquire the most promising, advantageous education possible. With any luck, this will permit me a career that sustains a suitable quality of life. Ultimately, obtaining a degree is not only important for occupational security, but also to become self- sufficient as well. It is accepted at any public university in the state of West Virginia. However, WVU is one of the few colleges that allows full monetary benefits of the waiver. Secondly, although W.V.U. has thirteen expansive residence halls, I have chosen to commute because of the school’s close proximity to my home. I will have to drive a mere 30 mile round trip. This will permit me to use the monies saved from rental expenses to compensate for laboratory fees, textbooks, fuel, and automobile expenses. In addition, WVU presents a diverse student body with over 10 different languages spoken and offers numerous collegiate majors. Courses of study scale from accounting to world language to dentistry; making it possible for anyone to find their career passion. I have strong convictions that leave me to believe that a college education is imperative. On average, a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree earns a lot more in a year than a high school graduate. During the recession between three years jobs requiring some college or an associate's degree fell by a substantial amount, and jobs that are requiring a high school degree. In the article “ Is a College Education Worth It?” by Henry Punionion, he encapsulates the essences of the importance of a college education.
The tuition at Hampton University for an entire year is $23,992. It is so much more expensive to attend HU because of it being a four year college as well as the many things this university can offer compared to RBC. Although, both colleges differ in prices, both of them for an entire year are almost similar in cost. Another factor that these two colleges differ in is the number of dorms that are available for on-campus students. Hampton University has 22 dorms in total, 8 being dorms for males and

In 1964, at the Founding Rally of the Organization of Afro-American Unity, Malcolm X said “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” As a young college student, I often think about my future, some may say preemptively. Jorge Salles Diaz offers a perspective for current students who may be too focused on life after university in his essay, “Let’s be honest about why we’re here.” Diaz is currently a senior at Vanderbilt University. He describes himself as a ‘young intellectual eager to take the world by storm.’
VCU has an acceptance rate of 64% and the graduation rate for the university is 56.1%. Virginia Union University is quite different when compared to VCU. VUU has an acceptance rate of 73% and the graduation rate is 30.5% which is extremely low. The University of Richmond has a lower acceptance rate than the two previous schools with 31% of their students accepted, yet their graduation rate is the highest of all schools with 82.8% of their students graduating. The acceptance and graduation rate is important when deciding which Richmond University is the best fit because it gives you an idea of how any of their students graduate on time with their projected

With my course level work, and the guidance of my professors who taught their bachelors students at a master’s level. I am more than prepared to take on VCU’s M.S.W program. Growing up in Jacksonville Fl. I lived in some of the rough parts of the city. Most of my friends fell into the life of gangs and prison.
In terms of my short-term conceptual career goals, I believe that further education is necessary for me to
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” this seems to the continuous question everyone is encountered within their lifetime; and we expect it in every ice breaker. In our elementary years we hear “A doctor!” or “the president of the United States!” ; but with further education and experience our dreams alter and so do our careers.
Attending college for a degree and an entry into the job industry is that in which a remarkable amount of students attend for, however, that is not the only reason. A college education is very important especially if one wishes to maximize their potential and earning in the future. What makes it so important to me are the three things that it allows me to do: expands my skill set, gives me a better chance at reaching my ultimate career goal, and provides me a way to support a my future family. These three objectives are what help me put my education in perspective while lighting the fire in my belly to get my assignments done. I’m not the type of person to take an opportunity like this for granted because I know how rare a chance to get a college degree is whether it’s an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree.
