During the Industrial Revolution many events occurred. Many people suffered especially the poor. Industrial Revolution Essay The advent of the industrial revolution affected workers in many ways, some good but mostly bad. The age of industry brought with it changes in class structure. Workers were over worked, not fed enough, and had little to no health benefits. Some workers during the Industrial Revolution worked so hard that they often had to quit work and in most cases died.
During the late 18th through the19th century, the industrial revolution created many changes in regards to labor. Many people of the working class were affected positively in the way of new jobs, better quality products, and quality of life (Doc3, Doc4, Doc 5). While others lost family or experienced a decrease in the quality of life (Doc1, Doc2, Doc7). Some workers soon became dependent on technological machinery (Doc 6, Doc 8, Doc 9). Many workers lives during The Industrial Revolution were changed for the positive as many people such as children had a chance to enrich their lives because they were given a purpose (Doc 3).
People had many opportunities to work during this time. Before the Industrial Revolution children usually grew up and had the same profession as their parents because that’s what their parents taught them. Once the revolution started however, children were able to work in factories, as servants, on farms and etc. During this time, a lot of technology was created but jobs were also cut down. Machines like the spinning jenny were invented, which gave factories the option to cut down on their employees.

Life During the Second Industrial Revolution Imagine working in a dangerous dingy factory all day and then going home to small room you call your home with just a small paycheck in your pocket. For the working class this was the case in the Second Industrial Revolution. Technological innovations helped spark the Second Industrial Revolution, and made life a little bit easier. However, living conditions and work were still as horrid as it was in the first industrial revolution. Labor unions soon started popping up to fight for better pay and shorter days for the poor.
Effects of the Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an important event in history. It brought about many positives during its time. For instance, kids were well fed, educated, and clothed. There were plenty of negatives, as well. One very sad example was the machine injuries that happened to both children and adults.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
The workers went through times of starving and not knowing if they would survive till the next day, but they still got up in the morning and went to work. Work was not always very fun but they still showed up to work hard so they could get paid and to try to provide for their families. During the Industrial Revolution pay was very low, and once they would get paid they would have to spend it all on food and rent. They would not have any money left to save.
Child labor was a great problem in the Industrial Revolution. Factory owners usually hired women and children rather than men. They said that men expected higher wages, and they suspected that they were more likely to rebel against the company. Women and children were forced to work from six in the morning to seven at night, and this was when they were not so busy. They were forced to arrive on time and they couldn’t fall behind with their work because if they did they were whipped and punished.
The industrial revolution created an age of wonder for the rich but also created a nightmare for the workers powering the industrial revolution. The period of rapid industrial growth during the 1800s and into the early 1900s was more harmful because of poor working conditions, violent labor disputes and poor regulations at factories. The businessmen of the industrial revolution created poor working conditions for men and women just
