In the play "Romeo and Juliet'' by William Shakespeare many people know that Romeo and Juliet killed themselves, but do you know the cause of it? Was it love, or was it hate? Well the reason that Romeo and Juliet killed themselves was because of hate and not because of love.
The first reason that Romeo and Juliet killed themselves was that the two families hated each other which caused people's acts to be unclean. In other words, the powers of hate caused people to be guilty of murder and such. We first found out about the families hating each other in the prologue. It says in there: "From ancient grudge to break new mutiny,/ Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean" (Prologue. Line 3) The beginning of the story was expressing how the families hated each other and how the blood of civilians because of the grudges makes other people hands unclean, in this

Romeo killed Tybalt because of the curse of hate. Romeo killing Tybalt lead to getting himself kicked out of the city. Since Juliet couldn't get to him, she needed a plan, which a man named Friar Lawrence hatched. He would give Juliet a potion that makes her look dead but she isn't and he would send Romeo a letter to let him know that she isn't. Unfortunately, he didn't get the letter and assumed Juliet was dead and killed himself because of it. None of this would have happened if Romeo didn't kill Tybalt because of hate. The text says before Tybalt is murdered by Romeo: "Away to heaven, respective lenity, / And fire-ey'd fury be my conduct now! / Now, Tybalt, take the "villain" back again / That late thou gavest me, for Mercutio's soul, / Is but a little way above our heads, Staying for thine to keep him company. / Either thou or I, or both, must go with him" (Act 3, Scene 1, lines 83-89) Romeo is showing the anger he had and how he intended to kill Tybalt. All of this is because of the influence of
Tybalt hated Romeo because he was a Montague. Though Tybalt especially hated Romeo because of his affection towards Juliet. Once Friar married Romeo to Juliet, Romeo becomes more comfortable around the Capulets, he tried to talk to Tybalt and tells Tybalt he loves him, which just made Tybalt angrier, leading him to kill Mercutio. After the death of Mercutio, Romeo killed Tybalt out of frustration for Tybalt being able to live and Mercutio dead. If Romeo would have been more careful around Tybalt the fight that led to the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt would have not occurred.
He insults Romeo, but Romeo remains calm. Tybalt stab Mercuric and Romeo kill Tybalt. “Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford no better term than this; thou art a villain” (3.1.55-56). “Thou wretched boy that didst consort him here, shalt with him hence” (3.1.123). If Tybalt did not kill Mercuric, then Romeo would not have to kill Tybalt, he wouldn’t have got banish in Verona.
Instead of Romeo killing Tybalt out of anger he could have just threatened him in a way. Romeo putting tybalt down played a large factor on how it has led to the deaths at the end of the
With the resentment that he carries towards Romeo’s family always seems to be his motivation to rile them up. His resentment is a major reason he got killed in the first place- seeing as that caused him to kill Mercutio, making Romeo kill him out of rage. You can see that his resentment is what led him to his death when this quote appears after Mercutio basically tells him to just start fighting them- “You shall find me apt enough to that, sir, if you an you will give me occasion,”(3. 1. 18) This quote may have been the first step into Tybalt’s death, as it seems that this is the words that started this fight in the first place. All he had to do was control his strong emotion towards them and walk away- all of this could’ve been avoided that
Romeo, a Montague, and Juliet, a Capulet, were two forbidden lovers who took their lives at the end of the play. The feud between Montagues and Capulets is the reason for the deaths in Romeo and Juliet. First, Tybalt’s hatred towards the Montagues ultimately caused his death. To begin, Romeo, a Montague, went to a Capulet party in hopes of seeing his first love, Rosaline.
(Shakespeare 3.1.127-128). Romeo decided to kill Tybalt to avenge his friend which had driven him into being forbidden to come back to Verona. He could no longer be with Juliet and he had to run away from home. He had excluded and divided himself from Juliet, who he loves. That is such imbecility and foolish action of him believing that killing Tybalt would have changed something to be better, and he was wrong.
Tybalt was a troublemaker and also a good sword fighter and picked a lot of fights. He fought Mercutio and killed him by accident. Tybalt was slain by Romeo because Tybalt killed his best friend. Tybalt was also mad because Romeo came to his party and thought that it was a
Even though Romeo wanted no part in the fighting, he was dragged in once Tybalt killed Mercutio. If Tybalt hadn’t killed Mercutio, than Romeo wouldn’t have killed Tybalt. Romeo: “Alive in triumph, and Mercutio slain? Away to heaven respective lenity, And fire-eyed fury be my conduct now!” (Shakespeare,
Romeo kills Tybalt in anger and revenge for his friend. “Either thou or I, or both, must go with him” (Act 3 Scene 1). After Romeo’s banishment, Friar Lawrence develops a plan for Romeo and Juliet to be together so Juliet would not have to marry Paris. The plan was for Juliet to drink a potion that would put her to sleep for forty-eight hours and she would appear dead to everyone. Juliet would eventually be taken to the Capulet’s vault where Romeo was expected to come get her but the plan does not go as they hoped.
Why would people want to kill Romeo and Juliet. The play Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William shakespeare is about two lovers madly in love, but can’t be together because of their families feud which leads to their death. Friar Laurence, Romeo, and Juliet are responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death in William Shakespeare's play Romeo and juliet. First of all, Friar Laurence is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death because he was very secretive.
Romeo was an impulsive, irrational, and destructive person with little regard for the people around him. Romeo refused to take Tybalt’s anger seriously, and Tybalt slew Mercutio. “they fight. TYBALT falls” (3.1.28-29) Romeo killed Tybalt in an act of blind rage, getting himself banished from Verona. Romeo’s banishment, which he caused by being irrational, resulted in his mother’s grief killing her.
The long standing-family feuding and fate is ultimately to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. Some people may think that Romeo and Juliet are ultimately to blame for their own deaths, because they both killed themselves. They are wrong, the
Romeo is a Montague, the rival family to the Capulets. The hatred that would lead to his own death started with this grudge. Romeo didn’t do anything to hurt the Capulets, but Tybalt didn’t like his presence. Tybalt got angry at a party over nothing. Tybalt sent a letter to Romeo’s home challenging him to quarrel.
He murdered Tybalt after a feud between him and Mercutio, where Tybalt killed Mercutio. Romeo, speaking of Tybalt, says “He’s alive and victorious, and Mercutio’s dead? Enough with mercy and consideration. It’s time for rage to guide my actions.
In the end Romeo and Juliet did they actually have to kill themselves, their answer is yes they did. Romeo and Juliet caused their own death based on their actions. Because Romeo and Juliet did not communicate their love they had for eachother, they had to lie and keep secrets when confronted, thus leading to their demise. Romeo is too quick too think, Juliet got scared easily when she was confronted, and they both did not want to tell anyone they loved each other.
