Tybalt- although a character not often thought of too much in the play of Romeo and Juliet, he does have some significance to the story. He’s important enough to be killed, anyway. It is said that he was killed by Romeo... but is that really true? Yes, Romeo did stab him to death, but who is the real person to blame? The culprit here would be none other than… Tybalt himself! He was the one that started most fights with the Montagues, he wouldn’t back down when things were getting too out of hand (when sword fights started), and his despisement of the Montague 's was out of control- even worse than Lord and Lady Capulet’s resentment. As it be said, Tybalt is most definitely one of the most violent people in the Capulet family. Between the bickering of the two families, Tybalt’s fights with the younger of the Montague’s stood strong. He was usually the one to start a fight with a snarky comment, or just outright demand that they go against him, while it seemed the Montague 's tried to stay out of his way, but at the same time, they felt they had to try to hold their ground. For example, nearing the end of the …show more content…
With the resentment that he carries towards Romeo’s family always seems to be his motivation to rile them up. His resentment is a major reason he got killed in the first place- seeing as that caused him to kill Mercutio, making Romeo kill him out of rage. You can see that his resentment is what led him to his death when this quote appears after Mercutio basically tells him to just start fighting them- “You shall find me apt enough to that, sir, if you an you will give me occasion,”(3. 1. 18) This quote may have been the first step into Tybalt’s death, as it seems that this is the words that started this fight in the first place. All he had to do was control his strong emotion towards them and walk away- all of this could’ve been avoided that
Tybalt always kept Romeo’s intrusion in the back of his mind, until one day when he decided to act upon it. “Turn and draw” (3.1.38), he tells Romeo. Romeo being a wise young man doesn’t fight him. Tybalt has to take his rage out on someone, so he decides to fight and kill Mercutio. Romeo then kills Tybalt and gets banished.
Romeo and Juliet In the play “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, Tybalt is responsible for most of the violence and death. This is mainly because of his rage about the family fued between the Montagues and the Capulets. He is a Capulet and he wants to fight or kill Montagues anytime he sees or hears one of them.
In the story Romeo and Juliet, I don't think anyone is to blame because Nobody planned on Mercutio dying, when the fight happened and for Romeo and Juliet's death. Nobody could have caused all this so i think fate played a huge role in this play. Fate also played a part when Mercutio told Romeo to go to the party Fate was the reason for everything nothing was planned.
Then he got mad at his father when he said that he couldn 't kill him. Then when Romeo tries to make peace with him he beat up Romeo and then killed Mercutio. Then at the beginning of the story when he said that he hates all Montagues and he hates the word peace. Tybalt is the reason why Romeo was banished. Tybalt is the reason for the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.
Tybalt is hot headed and rash. In the first act of Romeo and Juliet he is already starting fights as stated by him “What, drawn, and talk of peace? I hate the word / As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.”(1.1.63-64). Tybalt’s hate of peace is the most blatant example of his hot headed and rash actions. He is trying to get the Montagues riled up so that he can have a fight.
Before Mercutio’s death in act three Tybalt remarks “Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford No better term than this: thou art a villain.” (Shakespeare.3.1.61-62). As exemplified by this citation Tybalt clearly states his disdain for Romeo and this addition creates an underlying tone of disdain for their relationship as a whole. This has the opposite effect as intended on the two as their relationship grows stronger because of this adversity and this ultimately leads to their deaths to do irrational decisions made in the haste of love. Ultimately the decision that Tybalt makes that directly leads to the death of the lover is as Tybalt asserts “Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries That thou hast done
It seemed like he went there with built-up anger and the intention of fighting someone - it didn’t matter who. As a result, Romeo now feels that he has to fight and kill Tybalt, or die trying, for revenge for Mercutio’s death. In Act 3, Scene 1, Romeo says “My very friend, hath got his mortal hurt In my behalf. My reputation stained With Tybalt’s slander.” (line 72 - 74).
Lastly, Tybalt is the most to blame for the events that occur in Romeo and Juliet because of the the first events he caused leading to the suicides of Romeo and Juliet. The confirmation that Tybalt is the cause of the terrible events in Romeo and Juliet is shown in the play “Romeo and Juliet” when Romeo says, “Is it even so? then I defy you, stars! Thou know ' st my lodging: get me ink and paper, and hire post-horses; I will hence tonight.”
No normal person would have come back to fight after killing someone, showing how truly corrupt Tybalt is. This corruption is the reason for the lover's deaths and the reason Tybalt is the most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. He actively tries to get “revenge” for Romeo’s presence at the party, a faulty reason, if a reason at all to put a knife through someone’s heart. This depravity leads Tybalt to kill Mercutio. As if one death wasn’t satisfactory, the killer comes back to keep fighting.
The story is about a tragedy death of two star-crossed lovers, and how they fell in love falling in love. Romeo starts by going after a girl named Rosalina, and then falls madly in love when the beauty of Juliet. Romeo and Juliet meet at the Capulet’s party, and then fall instantly in love, with each other, and get married in the Friar Laurence office. While Romeo and Juliet physically committed the acts that ended there own lives, the long-stand family feuding and fate should be blamed for their deaths.
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt is responsible for his own death because he has a history of killing, he has an attitude that instigates on problems, and he has grudges against Romeo. Tybalt is at fault for his own death because he has killed other people before. Romeo exclaims to Tybalt, after Tybalt killed Mercutio, “He’s alive and victorious, and Mercutio’s dead?” (3.1.84). In this quote, Romeo is wailing that a great person was just killed by Tybalt.
He murdered Tybalt after a feud between him and Mercutio, where Tybalt killed Mercutio. Romeo, speaking of Tybalt, says “He’s alive and victorious, and Mercutio’s dead? Enough with mercy and consideration. It’s time for rage to guide my actions.
Romeo allows his thirst for revenge to cloud his logical reasoning when he kills Tybalt who has just murdered Mercutio, Romeo’s best friend. Mercutio defends Romeo against Tybalt’s insults with comebacks and later his sword. As Romeo attempts to intervene, Mercutio is stabbed by Tybalt and Romeo is enraged. Once he finds out from Benvolio that the wound had killed him, Romeo,”Who had but newly entertained revenge,” (III.i.173), kills Tybalt and flees the scene. Romeo declined to
In Romeo and Juliet all the roles have unique character traits. Throughout the play the people suffer many different downfalls because of their bleak actions. Knowing this, Tybalt’s downfall was imminent. An overly aggressive, short tempered character gets himself in lots of trouble every time someone disagrees with him or opposes him. Although he is aggressive it is his confidence and courage that truely leads to his downfall.
The person responsible of the six deaths Who would you select to be the most responsible for the six deaths? The majority of blame for the six deaths in Romeo and Juliet By William Shakespeare rest on Tybalt.
