First month of Warrant Officer Basic Course The role of the military officer today is very complex, challenging, and very rewarding. The transition into Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) has displayed a few of those characteristics. Upon arrival to the WOBC we as newly appointed Warrant Officers were welcomed with open arms. Not only was the students eager to get started and to begin learning on how to become future 131As but the instructors were as eager to coach, influence and direct the class in the direction needed not only becoming newly certified 131A but to become the future of the 131A cohort. During our first few weeks at WOBC we continued to get acclimated with the new surroundings of Fort Sill and continued to get accustomed to the transition from being enlisted to the officer branch.

I have gone through almost all of the freshman cadet training

After reading The Transition by Robert Caro, an article about the transition of power from President John Kennedy to Lyndon Johnson following Kennedy’s assassination, I was amazed at how Johnson was able to make the transition from Vice President to President effortless. From the moment that Johnson arrived at the hospital waiting to hear about the condition of the President, accounts from many White House staffers and secret service agents immediately noticed a change in the demeanor of Johnson. Homer Thornberry described Johnson to be “Very calm. All through the time he was just calm”. I was very surprised that Johnson was able to maintain a calm and collected demeanor, while having to make important decisions throughout the day.

Since I was ten years old, I have been a member of the Young Marines, a program dedicated to the enrichment of youth. Aside from my family and school, this organization has had an incredible impact on my life, not only providing me with many unique and amazing experiences, but by shaping the foundation of my character by instilling in me the three core principles of the Young Marines: Discipline, Leadership, and Teamwork and also by emphasizing the importance of community service. I have had many amazing and unique experiences as a Young Marine which included the challenges of promotion to become the senior ranking officer, learning many new skills such as CPR, teaching Drug Demand Reduction, leading and mentoring the members of the Unit, going on encampments and traveling. In my sophomore year, my Unit Commander, a Korean War veteran, selected me to travel with him to Seoul. Every few years he chooses a Young Marine to take to South Korea based on merit.

The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is a program that was designed to teach high school students citizenship values, personal responsibility, and leadership all while using a military structure to teach students teamwork and self discipline. JROTC prepares the future of our nation to be a law abiding citizens in society. With the passage of the National Defense Act of 1916, JROTC was born. Today, in the 21st century, JROTC differs from 100 years ago. Without a doubt, JROTC will change in the 22nd century to adapt to social norms like today.

It is important that a child or a young person are supported when they enter a new setting. It is also important that the individual also feels supported. Transitions affect young people and children 's development as transitions is the milestones that the individual has to go through in order to achieve different stages in life. There are short term transitions and long term transitions that children and young people go through. Some of the short term transitions that a child or young person may go through are out bursts of anger, lack of motivation/concentration etc.

My time in JROTC has been one of the better things that I have done. JROTC has shown me that I need to make sure I have been on my best behavior. JROTC has shown me that I need to make sure that I have honor, Integrity and Respect. Not only for others but also for myself and the leaders of this fair country in which I live. JROTC has shown me that there are many life skills that I will learn as I continue on with my career within the military.

Do we know how that big of a darkening impact can change a normal human being to someone we all won 't even recognize? Page by page of this novel Elie adjusted differently emotionally, physically, and spiritually from beginning, middle and end.

Then deciding my classes for high school I knew I would be participating in the JROTC program. One of the first things I was drawn to was the uniform, which symbolizes honor, duty, loyalty, responsibility and high expectations. But only when I started to wear that uniform did I begin to understand the ROTC’s rich history, the many ways it builds character and community in the present, and it 's exciting goals for the future. The ROTC mission, established one hundred years ago, is “to motivate young people to become better citizens.”

When undergoing transitions there can be a range of effects that children experience and can be observed. Effects which can be seen can be either short or long term. Different measures may be put in place to ensure that each child undergoing a transition is fully support and able to successfully get through the period of change. It is perhaps a common misconception by adults that children are quick to adapt and will therefore not be affected by a transition but this not always the case. Most children handle transitions incredibly well

Just one of the lessons I’ve learned. The uniform is something to look forward to, especially Class A. The badges and ribbons of upperclassmen encourage you to improve yourself more. The more you’re involved and committed the cadet is in the school and the

JROTC is going to continue being successful. From the beginning of 6 units in 1916, JROTC has expanded to 1645 schools today and to every state in the nation and American schools overseas. Cadet enrollment has grown to 281,000 cadets with 4,000 professional instructors in the classrooms. Growing up should be fun, but in Scouts case learning about the cruelty and the reality she is living in is no fun. As the novel advances Scout experiences various emotional changes because of different events that take place. She starts to realize the unfairness that exists between different races and the discrimination that is rounding at the time.
