The Battle of Trenton was a significant battle in the American Revolution. The reason for this is General George Washington decided that on December 25, 1776 he and his men would cross the Delaware River and attack the Hessians. Washington tricked and trapped the Hessians by attacking them from behind. Since the battle lasted less than an hour, Washington and his army defeated the Hessians. These are some key points on why the Battle of Trenton was so significant.

The Battle of Trenton. As soon as George Washington’s famous Delaware River crossing, he and the Continental Army marched into Trenton, New Jersey. This March included horses, guns, wagons, and soldiers. The group stretched for nearly a mile long.

In the starting years of the war, the British generally won most battles due to their far superior sea power. After the invasion of Canada, the American colonist rebellion invasions and attacks continued. Battles after battles were being fought and everywhere the anger and the revenge taking nature was visible in both the colonists and the British officials’ eyes. The next 2 battles occurred in Trenton and Princeton of New Jersey. The Battle of Trenton occurred 26 December 1776.

The Battle of Saratoga is well known for being the “turning point” of the Revolutionary War. The Battle of Saratoga actually consisted of two important battles that ultimately led to the American victory, which would send shock waves across the world. It was the first time that other countries began to believe that the Americans could win the Revolutionary War. The Battle of Saratoga proved several ideas to the American public and the Continental Army. Primarily, it proved that with supreme leadership and loyal soldiers the Americans certainly do have the potential to reach the goal of independence.

After Lexington and Concord, America spiraled into a losing streak, and were running out of options. Then, Washington and his soldiers came up with a winning idea. The continental army would cross the Delaware river on the night of Christmas, in the hopes of the British soldiers all being fast asleep from the celebrating the night before. Moreover, during the 1700s war was very different, battles tended to be fought face to face, and not during the winter, so the Americans were throwing a total wildcard at Britain. As you can imagine, the result of the war was an American victory, and many refer to this battle as the turning point of the war.

The American Revolution was a time period where there were 13 colonies in America exploring more of the land everyday, The british shared the land with people who are called the pilgrims and ended up soon turning into Patriots and after that Americans. Great Britain started abusing their colonists while there were shootings and many taxes of colonists, many were unfair, and this led to the revolution. This war was between The Patriot/Americans against the British/Loyalists. The revolution happened because a few major events in history took place in Boston others will say it as British Territory.

The Siege of Yorktown The Siege of Yorktown can also be identified as The Surrender at Yorktown, The German Battle, or The Battle of Yorktown. This battle was the last battle of the revolutionary war, but did not mark the end of it. This battle greatly affected the outcome of the revolutionary war.

The Battle at Moore’s Creek Bridge happened on February 27, 1776, a few months before the colonies declared independence from Britain. It started when the American Loyalists (loyal to the British) in the area decided to join the British Army under General Charles Cornwallis. McLeod was one of the Loyalists’ generals; and he planned to lead 2000 men, mostly Scottish Highlanders, to capture Brunswick Town. A Patriot general, Richard Caswell, mislead the Loyalists.

The Battle That Changed Everything The Battle of Saratoga took effect in New York. It was the turning point in the Revolutionary War. It turned out that there were two onslaughts fought in New York that caused many casualties. The two battles were fought eighteen days apart from each other. The British general was named John Burgoyne.

One week later he returned to Trenton to lure British forces south ,then executed a daring night march to capture Princeton on January. The victories reasserted American control of much of New Jersey and greatly improve the morale and unity of the colonial army and militias.

The Battle of Yorktown was a turning point. The war was going so difficult for the patriots that they were so low on money they couldn 't even supply the soldiers with essentials that the soldiers needed. They even thought that if they allied the war would end pretty quick but it didn 't. The British Army held all of the south, Philadelphia, and New York City. When the Benedict Arnold one of America’s most gifted officer turned out to be a traitor the American Morale took another blow. Charles Cornwallis moved his men to Yorktown Virginia.
