The note had a time on it, the family couldn't call the police, but had to wait for a phone call. The majority think that since they never got a call, the family must have done it, but instead, it could have been the killers focusing on the escape. It was found that there was a large list of things that were odd and suspicious to the case. First, the ransom note was written with a pen on paper that were both found inside the Ramsey home office and it included spelling errors that looked staged to be as if a foreigner who did not speak English wrote it. Moreover, when rewriting the note, it took approximately 21 and a half minutes to replicate, which seems odd that someone could spend that much time in their home without being noticed and without the fear of being caught. The 911 call made by Patsy Ramsey did not match the statements made by the family. Technology was used to enhance the 911 call received, which found troubling statements made by the Ramseys, including John saying “we are not talking to you” and Patsy replying with “what did you do?

On December 6, 1996 Patsey Ramsey made her way down to the kitchen. Little did she know that her life would change forever. On the third step, she found a ransom note. The note said that “a small foreign faction” had kidnapped her daughter and planned on killing her if the family alerted the police and didn’t withdraw 118,000 dollars from Mr. Ramsey’s bank account. Family and friends would always observe the two and found it suspicious how they would treat their daughter different from their son. Patsy would always treat her daughter very different from their son burke, it was known that she had got recently made at JonBenet for wetting her bed, this could’ve caused very bad triggering for her which could’ve led to the mysterious mystery of JonBenet and may have left her shocked after she realized what happens. It was known by a friend that Burke had once hit JonBenet on the head with a baseball bat because she made him upset which caused a scar on her face, and it wasn’t his first time hurting JonBenet.

When I looked at the handwriting of the ransom note and the handwriting of Patsy, there are some similarities, within the letters. Any individual can make their handwriting look sloppy, but there will always be similarities. I believe Patsy could have been irritated by something that JonBent could have possibly done, which caused Patsy to hit JonBent with a forceful object that could have caused serious brain damage. Over the next four years, officers with the Boulder Police Department worked diligently investigating the murder case, but were unable to come forward with definitive evidence on a particular suspect. There was evidence of fibers found on the duct tape used to bind the child which were consistent with fibers found on Patsy Ramsey’s clothing. Also the ransom note was written on the same paper which was owned by the Ramsey family. On December 26, 1996 around 5:45am JonBenet’s mother, Patsy Ramsey, discovered a two page and a half note sitting on the steps inside the house after noticing that JonBenet wasn’t in her bed. The ransom note stated that they had their daughter held hostage, and the only way to get her back is if they give them $118,000. When the police showed up they started to investigate the whole house. By 1:00pm the detectives and investigators still haven't found any evidence.

The murder of Jonbenet Ramsey is a really depressing and mysterious at that. The murder was extremely brutal, she had wounds on her face, a cracked skull, duct tape on her mouth, she was tied up, and she had a garrote around her neck. According to the documentary we watched she was hit in the head with a flashlight and then strangled with a garrote. It was expected that she snatched a piece of pineapple from her brother’s bowl in which he hit her with a flashlight because of it, and she was still alive so it was most likely the parents got in on it because they didn’t want to be filed for abuse and jailed so they strangled her to death and put a blanket over her body, breaking a window and adding a ransom note to make it seem like someone broke in.

Patsy’s left hand sample matched the ransom note closer than any other sample provided. If Burke did indeed kill his younger sister, Patsy wrote a forged ransom note to cover for her 9 year old son’s actions. If Burke didn’t kill JB, Patsy wrote the note to cover for someone else; herself. Many are led to believe that Patsy was scolding JonBenet when the situation became violent and Patsy pushed JonBenet into the tub causing her to hit her

On December 26th, 1996, JonBenét was found dead in her basement by her father. Multiple pieces of evidence suggesting that the Ramseys killed their daughter. In the shocking controversial case of the JonBenét Ramsey murder, the verdict incorrectly acquitted John and Patsy Ramsey of murder and child abuse, even though evidence towards the staging of the murder, along with signs and variations of child abuse, and the mishandling of key points of evidence and investigation.
