Should Cyberbullying Be Considered A Hate Crime

Cyberbullying is bullying that happens online on social media sites. People thinks it's okay to bully other people online but no it's not okay. Cyber bullying is similar to The Crucible by people dont like when people act differently. One person starts it and then others will jump in just like how they did when they started to accuse people of being witches in salem in 1940 and 1950.

There are a few different types of bullying, but in general, bullying is defined as aggression (emotional or physical) towards anyone, that is harmful, unwanted, and an action that is repeated, or had the potential to be repeated. Unwanted, aggressive behavior, among any age group classifies as bullying. Cyberbullying is another form of bullying that involves social media and electronic devices. In my opinion, cyber bullying is more severe because, at the end of the day, the victim can not get away from the issue. They go home to social media, what is now the center of our time, and it is impossible to escape the terror of being bullied.

Some find it to not be an issue, telling those who may receive hurtful or mean messages to “brush it off” while others believe that the issue of cyberbullying is a serious one and needs to be resolved, or at least better understood. Generally, social media is the means in which cyberbullies act. Sites like Facebook or Twitter can give these cyberbullies some anonymity if they assume a pseudonym of some kind, by doing this they are able to harass others with almost no repercussion. This perceived anonymity of the bullies is what differentiates it from traditional face-to-face

With the fact that cyber bullying is inescapable, comes the fact of harm. Bullying leads to depression, which often leads to suicide or self-harm. Apparently self-harm and suicide is under the category of “just hurt feelings” for some. Also, apparently the kids that caused the hurt feelings that lead to these horrid responses don’t deserve prosecution.

7 percent to 9 percent victims of bullying are more likely to commit suicide. There are many different kinds of bullying, but two that you hear about everyday are cyber bullying and face to face bullying. Though, one might wonder if both are as terrible as the other and just how different they are. Well, the truth is that all bullies just make fun people in different forms because they are different, but isn’t it better to be different than to be just like everybody else. So, Cyber bullying is just as bad or even worse than face to face bullying because both will haunt you for the rest of your life, both cause many people to kill themselves, cyberbullies can attack at anytime and anywhere, and what someone puts online can only be deleted by them, Cyberbullying is just as unacceptable as face to face bullying, because both will haunt you for the rest of your life.

“Bullied victims are seven to nine per cent more likely to consider suicide. ”(Yale University) “Over 30,000 children stay home every day due to fear of being bullied.” (ABC News) Bullying is the cause of about 6,078 deaths in a year in the fifteen to twenty-four age range. A young man from Ireland named Joshua Unsworth hanged himself after frequent cyber bullying on a social network that he belong to.

The act of cyber bullying is one that is able to be committed without the aggressor having to be in the physical presence of the victim. Hence, it’s possible someone to cyber bully not only from anywhere but around the clock too. There is also a chance that the aggressor may choose to remain anonymous. The constant harassment can cause the victim to experience unwarranted stress.

Bullying can have a very underlying effect on the growth and development of children. The negative effects of bullying doesn’t only affect the victim, but also the bully themself. Bullying has both short and long-term consequences for the victim, including headaches and sleep problems, drug abuse, depression, and even school failure. Many children that are bullied have a higher risk of suicide. A really long-term and sometimes permanent effect is damage to self-esteem.

In today’s time, there are several awful individuals who partake in cyberbullying and stalking. Cyber stalking is when one uses an electronic source to communicate, bully, harass, or scare someone. Cyberbullying is when one uses an electronic source to bully a person. Cyberbullying and stalking has brought individuals to commit suicide, gain depression, and gain insecurities. When cyber stalking is taking place, it is difficult to understand that it’s actually happening.

Do you believe that cyberbullying should stop and why? Cyberbullying is a major problem in the U.S. People use social media, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Cyberbullying should be stopped because it can lead up to depression and even worse suicide. Depression is sad, hopeless and helpless. Suicide is killing and high risk.

Depression and anxiety is caused by someone with an aggressive behaviour which makes the individual depressed and likely to be lonely. There have been countless reports over the past few years of students committing suicide because of being bullied. Another unfortunate consequence of this is that bullying is cyclical. People who have been bullied can attempt to gain power and get self-esteem back. The impact of frequent bullying often accompanies these victims into adulthood; they are at greater risk of suffering from depression and other mental health problems, including schizophrenia.

First, problems of the victim who face bullying can go worse when the bully torment the victim into feeling less confident. He/she will feel alone, not going to school, becoming sick or thoughts of suicide. Furthermore, students who cyber-bully or is self-involved bullies
