The Lorena Falasco Running Club is a new club spearheaded by Deborah Atkins. Just as Deborah, I too, began running later in life so I was quite excited when she began organizing this club. I jumped at the opportunity to become a coach! I was athletic as a teen; however, in my adult life sports and exercise took a backseat up until 5 years ago. At one time, the thought of running, made me want to run and hide, but with a great coach I was able to quickly adapt to long distances and enjoy it! Now I am excited to share my love of running with our students and the community. Our club meets two days a week after school. I was able to learn how to work with students on their running, and the students were able to learn how to be healthy and active while having fun. It was an amazing experience to see them all improve their times with each session and having fun while doing it. Obesity is such a wide spread problem across our nation, so I am very thankful to have a positive impact on our students, and show them that being active and staying healthy can be something fun they can do with their family and friends. From this experience, I would like to see all of our schools in the district have a running club in place. We modeled ours club after Miano Elementary Schools Running Club. After speaking with their staff about the positive impact it was having at their site, I feel that it would be of the upmost importance to implement a running club at all of our sites. In conclusion, implementing not only created an active and fun environment for students, it also allowed our staff to interact with parents and community members in a positive manner. High School Fishing Club High schools offer extracurricular activities, clubs and sports for students to help them become involved in their school and develop team building and leadership skills. Some types of clubs offered by schools include Pep Club, SADD Club (Students Against Drunk Driving), Chess Club, and FFA (Future Farmers of America), just to name a few. More and more schools in the country are creating a fishing club. The question that arises is how long will it be until fishing clubs are offered at every school in the country?

Always Running Final Paper Today it isn’t difficult for a Chicanx or other minority to get a degree or create a prosperous life for themselves through hard work, but back in the mid-1900s, that was not the case. The American Southwest in the mid-1900s was not the most inviting or friendliest place for Mexicans and Chicanos. Many were born into extreme poverty or already came impoverished, many were degraded and sometimes dehumanized by racism, and many felt like they did not belong in the land of the free. Often times, young Mexicans and Chicanos had no choice. They had to resort to roaming the streets, doing drugs, committing crimes, and joining gangs in order to feel like they belonged and to give meaning to their lives.

It taught me commitment, dedication, sportsmanship, and most importantly, it gave me inspiration. Cross-Country inspired me to exceed my running capabilities and see what I can actually do. With inspiration from this sport, I decided to run a marathon as part of a school project. After all, if I love the feeling from finishing a 3.1 mile race, just imagine what I could feel from a 26.2 mile race. Raising over $1,000 for the Alzheimer's foundation, I ran that marathon, and finished 5th out of nearly 200 people.
Misconceptions can be found all around including, in stores, schools, or parks; and where they are most commonly discovered is on stereotypes that are given to groups of individuals by society. Stereotypes which are truths or exaggerated truths about a group can grow and become untruths known as misconceptions. Many people stereotype other individuals due to their insufficient understanding about the group and their tendency of judging based off of appearance rather than what lies on the inside. However, when an individual assumes when little details about a group are displayed; misconceptions are made and can be passed down making it difficult to convince individuals that they are untrue. Misconceptions about athletes from a wide variety are very common one of which is about female runners.
In addition, I did pretty good in the 12-minutes run also, probably because running is my favourite sport. I try to run 3 times per week during 30 to 45 minutes. So, running is one of my strengths, because I enjoy doing it and I practice a lot.

This novel is the fourth writing material out of his seven scripts which embodies the harsh realities of the second half of the twentieth century. The main theme of this novel is the “survival of the poor”. In this novel he went through his pseudonym, Richard Beckman that he often uses in most of his sad or pessimistic stories, the man aged 28 who tries hard for the survival of himself and his family but all the efforts gone in vain (Murphy). In this story the author writes about the Ben Richard, who is an unemployed individual permanently belong to an underclass family.
The book Always Running, is written by Luis T. Rodriguez. This book is about a certain time of the author’s life story. Luis teenage years were the most difficult because he was involved with gangs and surrounded by negativity, he was constantly running away from the police. Luis Rodriguez’s childhood was filled with humiliation, he was always tortured and beaten by his older brother named Rano. For example, Rano would tie a rope around Luis’s head and play cowboy treating him like a horse, he would also push him off from the roof of the house.
People think that cross country is easy and doesn´t have any difficulty. They are wrong! Cross country doesn’t only consist on running at a constant pace throw a considerable distance. When comparing the running styles of a track runner and cross country runner we notice a huge difference. As when running cross country you need to move the different parts of the body in an optimum position to ensure your performance is the best.
I got to see some great examples of physical education, health education, and movement is integrated in a school setting; however, I also got to see the reality of how physical activity and health education is not necessarily a priority in schools because of other academic demands. I learned that I can make a difference in my students’ lives if I understand physical activity/health education, model physical activity/health, teach physical activity/health, and become an advocate for physical/health in my classroom.
