Personal Narrative: Moving To Italy

It was the end of summer 2000 and this was going to be the begging of the worst year for Maria. One day Maria came home from school and found that her parents were waiting for her at the kitchen table anxiously to tell her the exciting news. Maria 's Mom Antoinette was so anxious that Maria didn’t even make it to the table without her mom shouting, “Where moving!” Maria was in complete shock and couldn’t believe it, she didn’t want to move and leave all her friends behind. Antoinette then exclaimed, “To Italy!” after that Maria had to take a seat she was so sad and disappointed. Maria’s family had to move to Italy because of her dad’s new promotion. Maria didn’t even know what to say, so she stayed there in silence. She didn’t want to move to a total different country, to learn and speak a different language, eat foreign food, but most importantly to have to make new friends. …show more content…

Once the New Year came sadly, Maria and her family packed all their things and moved to the heart of Italy, Rome. When Maria got there she was petrified especially since she had to start school the next day, grade 9 the first year of high school and probably the most alarming. She refused to go she wouldn’t know anyone or have anyone to sit with at lunch. The next morning even though Maria didn’t want to had to wake up and go to school. When she got there she went directly to her class eluding everyone when she got to her class her teacher asked what her name was and a few questions about herself. Her teacher Mrs. Pizzeria, a very sweet and kind lady introduced Maria to the class. Everyone shouted “ciao Maria” they were all very nice and welcoming to her she was very astounded that their much like her old friends back home just they don’t speak much English.
