Inception, The Matrix, The Lion King, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Black Swan are all notable examples of this. There is one movie in particular, with many striking similarities shared with a widely popular anime: Pacific Rim. Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the most popular animes to ever be created; it was created in the 90’s while Pacific Rim was only brought into the light in 2013. Ayanami Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion has a bob-like haircut that is light blue in color. Mako Mori from Pacific Rim has blue tint through her hair, which is styled and cut the same as Rei’s. Mako and Rei have a father-daughter relationship with the head commander in each respective movie, even though no blood is shared between the two.
