Industrial Revolution Essay The advent of the industrial revolution affected workers in many ways, some good but mostly bad. The age of industry brought with it changes in class structure. Workers were over worked, not fed enough, and had little to no health benefits. Some workers during the Industrial Revolution worked so hard that they often had to quit work and in most cases died.
The Industrial Revolution affected people in different ways both by bad and good effects. The Industrial revolution was a good and a bad time with both positive and negative things happening during this time. There were plenty of positive effects on the Industrial Revolution. In Document 7 it says about how there was equal rights for men and women. In document 3 employment grew a lot which is good so people could get more jobs.
The industrial revolution was both positive and negative for our country. Despite the fact that there were many good things that came out of about the revolution there was many more negatives for the people at the time. A few of these consequences included low and unequal pay, child labor, no job guarantee, and poor living conditions. These situations made it obvious to the government that something needed change, but it took a while for them realize it resulting in injuries and even death. Although it did take awhile for them to realize what they needed do to prevent this, eventually they did figure out laws to help stabilize and grow in in a healthy way.
While some argue that industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because it made the economy flourish, it was actually manufactured an overall harmful result for humanity. Industrialization's negative impacts incorporate child labor, working conditions, and living conditions. During this time period, industry employers were corrupt forcing children to work risky tasks in the factories. Entrepreneurs never comprehended that kids should have a decent education.
The industrial revolution increased steel production which allowed the US to make a profit from trading and use the steel to improve transportation, farming and buildings. Industrial cities had many factories that burned coal which caused air pollution and increased steel production led to increased coal usage. Workers in the factories had dangerous, long work hours that they couldn’t protest. The industrial revolution had a large impact on working conditions at the time. Workers had to sign a yellow dog contract which prevented them from protesting unfair treatment and limited their freedom of speech.
For example, on of the effects is the environmental damage caused by American industrialization because there were no regulations on what businesses could and could not do to the surrounding environment. As a result, businesses poured smoke from their factories the atmosphere and dumped their garbage and ash into the surrounding areas and rivers Also the exploration of workers, or when workers are treated unfairly. For example, some explorations of workers are when companies didn't pay fairly, had kids, work, and had very dangerous jobs for employees to do. This was caused because there were no regulations due to the lack of labor laws. Finally, overpopulation in urban cities is a negative effect of industrialization because the overpopulation caused unsanitary living conditions, causing diseases to spread quickly.
First, there is the result of disease due to the laborer’s living conditions. The living conditions of the citizens were greatly diminished during the revolution, causing life quality and longevity to decrease immensely. In document 5, the text states how the middle class “struggle through life as best they can”, even though the conditions they were facing were unsuitable for any human. The resources and material the laboring class were left with relating directly to the cause of disease. If one is not given the things they need to survive, such as a clean home and food, then one can become sick.
DBQ: Positive and Negative Effects of The Industrial Revolution After 1750 gradual changes took place in England, which indefinitely marks the emergence of the Industrial Revolution. These changes were both affirmative and opposing. On the positive side, a factory system was established, steam engines were developed and the population density spread over Great Britain briskly. On a negative note, the working conditions were revolting, which led to the spread of disease and death. Overall, the changes in Europe reshaped the society as a whole, both positively and negatively.
The release of harmful gases into the air from factories pollutes the world 's air, doing harm to the environment, further leading to global warming. Then, though it did boost many job opportunities, the living condition of the workers during the industrialization were poor. Company towns owned by business were rented out to employees. The owners forced them to live in isolated communities near workshops and forced them to buy goods with high interests. The cities were poorly constructed and crowded with people and residents.
Our technology and the way people have lived their lives have advanced for the duration of many generations, because of the Industrial Revolution in England. Although people may have perceived that the Industrial Revolution incorporated many negative consequences for the society because of long-term injuries and illnesses, it was actually a positive step for the society. Having a bad working environment causes many problems for your body. In the book, Lyddie made by Katherine Paterson, the protagonist, Lyddie, was at a factory working to pay off debt. The working environment there affected Lyddie badly. It had very bad air, and gave Lyddie and her friends many sicknesses that aren’t that bad today, but were deadly before. There is a petition to improve the working conditions as well, although it has its risks.

Effects of the Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an important event in history. It brought about many positives during its time. For instance, kids were well fed, educated, and clothed. There were plenty of negatives, as well. One very sad example was the machine injuries that happened to both children and adults.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
