INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION AMONG PROFESSIONALS
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CONCEPT
Interpersonal communication is the process by which individual exchange information, feeling and meaning through verbal and non-verbal messages. This is a face to face communication, interpersonal communication is not just about what is said but involve the manner and attitude portrayed by both the sender and the receiver of the information. The attitude of perception of the sender of the information affects the channel of communication and the reception of the message by the receiver.
Communication is a two way process in which one person sends the message and it is received by another person who listens carefully and attentively in order to give a feedback.

When there is a barrier in the health services provider’s interpersonal communication, it leads to a high risk of making avoidable mistakes, critical information for the patient’s care could be neglected and not communicated to the appropriate personal.
Effective interpersonal communication among the health care service providers, create an effective team collaboration, the public health care personnel can easily collaborate with the other healthcare professionals to implement certain policies or carry out health care programmes in the community, lack of effective communication leads to medical errors which have potentials risk of harm or injury to the patients or clients. Medical errors itself needs to be communicated to the appropriate personnel for immediate rectification and preventing further damage or harm to the patient.
Effective team members with trust, respect and collaboration helps to create interpersonal communication
This paper will explain the seven principles of patient-clinician communication. It will then apply three of those principles to my interactions with my patients. Next, it will describe three methods being used in my area of practice to improved communication between the patients and clinicians. It will ultimately choose one of those principles that applies best to my practice and clearly describe how I use it. It will describe ethical principles that can be applied to issues with patient-clinician communication.

As communication plays a distinguished role in hospitals and veterinary offices, so do interpersonal relations and interpersonal communication skills. Specifically, the job of a veterinary technician requires successfully communicating with clients, as well as staff either in hospital or veterinary office. Moreover, the specific feature of work these specialists is they should associate with one another or with clients on a regular basis. Certainly, communication may and does take place on an informal level, after the working day. The described connections make the notion of “interpersonal relations” an exceptionally important aspect of life within a hospital or veterinary office.
Title In everyday life, communication is constantly and subconsciously used. The importance of human connection in life is often overlooked. Interpersonal communication is a dynamic form of communication between two (or more) people in which the messages exchanged significantly influence their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships (pg. 11 text book).
The health professional must show empathy, mindfulness and respect while demonstrating active listening. They must remain non-judgmental, providing care that is genuine and honest. This allows them to understand the physical and emotional needs of the patient, which ultimately leads to the right diagnosis and treatment. By the use of positive verbal and non-verbal communication, such as eye contact, gestures, tone of voice and keeping the language relative to the patient, health professionals are able to engage with the patient to find out necessary information (Boose 2018). In regards to written communication, it is essential that the health professional is clear and concise while using relevant and simple language for the patient.
Communication Introduction to Communication Developmental Theory Keyton (2011) defined communication as a process for people to convey, exchange, and receive information with others. According to Cheney (2011), every communication developmental theories basically rooted from the similar principles that involve encoder (sender), message (either in form of verbal and non-verbal), decoder (receiver), feedback, and noise. In this case, we would look into the message part both in verbal (language) and non-verbal (body language) as to review the communication progress of observed individuals. It is because “message” play as a determinant role of quality communication and communication effectiveness is highly depends on this element (Keyton, 2011).
According to Patterson & Krouse (2015), It is important to transfer the message in a good way, for that the communication skills is one of the most important basic skills of nursing leadership. More than that, communication in nursing can make their job efficiently and help them to communicate with a wide range of people, including the patient, patient 's family, and healthcare providers. However, unlike bad communication, which increases nursing staff problem and can lead to worsening the patient health condition, a good communication saves time and reduces the problem of nursing staff in resaving and deliver the right information. Furthermore, communication is not only talking with the patient it’s also listening to what the patient 's family and healthcare providers are saying to collect more information that helps the nurses to save lives.
