Cities were no longer organized or protected, so the bustling urban life that relied on structure disintegrated. Without the productive, systematic agricultural system, the population no longer had a reliable, widespread food source, and the lack of an imperial army and legal protection from violent or otherwise harmful crimes endangered the people, resulting in population decline. Additionally, because Rome broke up into many decentralized cities, and China dissolved into disunion and conflict, less area was under cultivation than under the large, connected empires. No public works like roads or bridges were in progress, and there were no large states to benefit from international trade.

During this time as well, Rome was struggling and falling because of severe financial crisis. This event happened because of constant wars,overspending,oppresive taxation and Inflation between rich and poor. From reading, one could also infer that Rome wasn’t at all the powerful country it was projected as. Rome’s economy, depended heavily on slaves. With the halt in the second century, Rome’s supply of slaves along with other war treasures began to dry up.

Rome was a very powerful empire, but eventually fell because of one thing, weak political leadership. Weak political leadership was the main reason why Rome fell and it was more of a chain because when there is bad leadership then there is bad military and more invaders. The invasions got more effective and hurt the empire a lot more than it should have at that time. First of all Rome went from a republic to a empire with all the power and rights from the people slowly slipping away to the all powerful emperors at the end.
