There are many positive attributes and assets that I possess. One of them is I am hard working; this will help our FFA chapter because I will venture to make a better and stronger chapter. Another positive attribute is I am reliable; I will strive to be at all of the meetings and activities that the chapter will bestow upon me. Last of all, I am a leader because I am passionate about the things I do while being open minded to the opinions of others. The FFA Chapter has many activities for members to participate in. One of the FFA activities that I participated in is the Troy FFA Greenhand initiation. This activity gave us an opportunity to step out of our comfort zone and meet new people. One of the stations we went through gave us an opportunity …show more content…
On this day, participants judged a number of livestock such as pigs, cattle, sheep, and goats. The fruit cases that I have sold is 14 ¾, totaling $404. Among the activities I participated in this year so far, the one that I inspired me was the Greenhand Initiation. At this activity, I learned that teamwork is essential in task like throwing a water balloon to your partner and trying not to let it burst apart. My work ethic and determination would make me a good candidate for the Freshmen FFA Committee. A plan that I would propose would be partnering very active members with those less involved to build confidence over insecurity. I would describe the organization by saying it is not just for people that are farmers or live on a farm. FFA is an organization that gets you involved to meet new people. FFA activities build character and leadership qualities for life. In the four years of being an FFA member, I would like to become a leader that members respect. As of now, a contest team that I’m leaning towards is the Dairy Foods Team. For people like me that have slight milk intolerance, I would like to explore how the dairy industry is confronting the growing problem of allergies in our
October 13 from 5-8 is the Chick Fil A Booster Event (Division of Student Affairs Beat Auburn Beat Hunger). All proceeds will go towards BABH. When I asked Charland what she was most excited for this year her eyes grew wide with excitement. Beat Auburn Beat Hunger is partnering with the Athletic Department this year.
I also can show leadership in FFA By helping lead on the events and telling people what to do when we work at certain times for the teacher breakfast. Another trait I can relate to the Odyssey is, “Now listen to your orders when it comes the time those who don't listen will pay
Some other possible ways to be honored is if you are an officer or participated in an SAE which is a Supervised Agricultural Experience. The FFA Alumni are also recognized at the banquets. Another tradition in FFA is Creed speaking where members recite the organization’s Creed, which was written by E.M. Tiffany in 1928 and adopted in 1930. At the beginning of every opening ceremony FFA members must rise and say, “To practice brotherhood, honor agricultural opportunities and responsibilities and develop those qualities of leadership which an FFA member should possess.” These words are a guideline as to why members
The project responds to a number of the Community Funding priorities. First, individuals of all background are encouraged to participate. There is no fee for participation, and all expenses for the day will be covered, including food and transportation. In addition, the winning team(s) will be awarded cash prizes. b.
I believe the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Science, and the Arts is the right place to continue my studies, because I love how the classes are based on the U of A academic system and that ASMSA offers an opportunity to obtain advanced college level knowledge before high school graduation. That being said, ASMSA still has a college life atmosphere which I think prepares the students to be more adjusted to what real college will be like. I also enjoy the fact that your professors are eager to help at almost any given time. On top of that, ASMSA will teach me viable skills like researching skills, time management skills, and self-discipline, also it will give me the great privilege of graduating with at least 30 concurrent hours which will
Of my many volunteer and paid extra-curricular activities, the most important to me is the National Art Honor Society, which extends artistic activities to my community. We organize two school events: the Festival of Trees and the Talent Competition. The Festival of Trees is an event when every school club can choose to donate and decorate a tree that we set up. All of the money raised goes to an organization of our choice. For the last 4 years, we have donated to Street Grace, which benefits the fight against human trafficking, especially in the Metro Atlanta area.
Similar to other immigrants my family history is somewhat compelling. Starting with my grandfather who was exiled out of Egypt in 1959 primarily as a result of the "decolonization process and the rise of Egyptian nationalism”, my immediate family and I also left France in 2004 as a result of rising tension against Jews. The migration of my grandparents and parents, from a young age, cultivated a sense of determination in me to overcome obstacles. Arriving in Miami at age 5, I had to learned my third language, English, in order to attend school. I was determined to and successfully lost my accent and got tested into the gifted program after a year of school.
Like previous years, I will work with JSA alumni, corporations, and foundations to secure matching grants. The matching grants are a good way to spark donations. On top of that, I wish to have a competition between states to see who can raise the most money before Fall State. The winning state will receive a special prize such as an extra $500 into their state’s StayClassy account.
I am looking for more than just academics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During my four years at Northwood High School, I became involved in numerous academic and extracurricular activities. As a result, I have been recognized and honored for achievements both inside and outside of school. I realize that titles and academic achievements are limited, but some of the impact I have on my community and other people’s lives is what really matters. Therefore, I plan to continue my active involvement in extracurricular activities while I am a college student.
It is a great honor to be considered for acceptance into the F.A. Verplanck Chapter of the National Honor Society. Being apart of this means more than just having outstanding grades. Even though it is an important factor, aspects like leadership, community, and character is also what shapes this organization and the people in it to be a well rounded individual. I feel as if I possess all of these characteristics and I will make me positive contribution into the National Honors Society.
Looking back on my four years as an FFA member of the New Lexington FFA Chapter, I can name several skills I’ve learned that I truly believe got me to where I am today. I remember my freshman self. Too nervous and shy to stand up and say the FFA motto in front of my Plant and Animal Science class. Twelve short words to recite for bonus points in class. I knew it, but was just too shy to stand up.
I joined the National FFA Organization March of my sophomore year in 2015. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into, just that my teacher needed another participant for the Vet Science CDE. I agreed to come to practice and eventually compete at the state contest. This was the beginning of my FFA career. We won the state contest, and worked through the summer to head to National Convention that fall and finish with a gold-rating.
Not only do these clubs recognize academic excellence, they also provide many opportunities for community service. Blood drives, food drives and Operation Christmas Child are only a few of the projects that we participate in throughout the year. I am
I would like to be apart of ASB because I’m interested in helping Medea be the best school it can be. I always like to learn new things and I will appreciate new experiences learning from seventh and eighth graders. I am responsible and I am excited for my leadership skills to be tested. Also, I will gain more responsibility and learn more leadership skills throughout my time in ASB. As part of ASB, I will be able to work with other students who have similar interests and want to be fellow leaders at Medea.
Personal Statement I come from a large family with relatives from a little ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of which have never made it past grade school. Mainly due to their mother, my grandma, she had fallen very ill. Due to her condition and lack of money my aunts and uncles dropped out of school to work and help pay for her medication and medical expenses. The older siblings had to take care of the younger siblings.
