Camp led the movement which transformed rugby football into American football. Camp created the american version of football which became the domnit college sport.

American football was created by a man named Walter Camp at Yale University. It was first invented in 1892 when Camp had altered the rules of the sports rugby and soccer and had eventually led to the creation of American football. Camp is responsible for inventing the line of scrimmage, use of downs, point system, the number of players per side, the snap, the basic formations of offense and defense and the creation of the quarterback position. Camp also is credited with the long - term commercialization of the sport, having written hundreds of articles and books highlighting the sport becoming popular throughout America. Camp is also responsible for being the first to publish a book on football with pictures and illustrations as coaching ads.

Football has plays, a great history, and a good set of rules that make the game fun to watch and for others, fun to play. The NFL has a strong set of rules and laws that make the game great. The first ever rules were written by Ebeneezer Cobb Marley in a camp called Walter Camp. Within the first five yards past the line of scrimmage, a defender can throw an eligible receiver out of his way.

There were less offensive and defensive designed plays. African-Americans were banned from the NFL in 1933 to 1945. Most teams were run dominant so they rarely threw the ball. As years went on the NFL improved in numerous ways. Players had an increase in physical size.

Like many sports at any time, football had a couple of really great teams and players with many other things going on. Different elements of professional football in the 1960s were great players, the first super bowl, and many great teams. The American Football League (AFL) creation greatly helped professional football in the 1960s and shaped what professional football looks like today. The AFL was created in order to compete with the already existing National Football League (NFL).

The football that we know today started in 1922 when the American Professional Football Association change its name to the National Football League. The team with the best regular season record was the champion. in 1960 a second national football league was started to compete with the NFL. Eventually it ended up the being two conferences to make up the NFL, the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference. The two implemented a system of playoff games and the champions of the two conferences went head to head in a game called the Superbowl.

Football is a very popular sport not only in American high schools and colleges, but also in the entire country of the United States. Is playing high school football worth the risk and harm inflicted to high school football players? This is the main question raised by the author, Raymond Schroth, in the article “Abolish High School Football.” In this article, Schroth talked about the disadvantages and harms of playing high school football to the players. Schroth argued that high school football should be abolished because it had contributed more harmful effects than benefits to football players.

Football is America’s favorite sport. American citizens spend their Sunday nights glued to the television, and Friday nights at the stadium watching athletes tackle, run and catch. Some viewers believe that football is too dangerous and should be eliminated from high school. Football is a dangerous sport; however, it should not be eliminated from high schools, because that tactic would be too severe. There are other ways of decreasing the dangers of football.

Your heart swells with pride as your son breaks through the opposing team’s defense. A clear route opens up on the football field, and your eyes don’t stray from the miraculous sight of your child running for the touchdown. WHAM! An enormous linebacker slams into your son, causing him to ricochet off the linebacker and collapse to the ground. Holding your breath, your heart plummets as you anxiously wait for him to rise; but he doesn’t, even as the paramedics rush to his side.

Ever since I was a toddler, I loved sports. Baseball, basketball, it did not matter; I just liked to run. When I was around 4 or 5, I was in the living room watching the Steelers play the Cardinals and saw Santonio Holmes grab a game winning touchdown to win the Superbowl. I was so excited that I jumped up in the air and I told my dad, “Daddy when I grow up I want to play football and I want to score a lot of touchdowns just like 10 does.”

The NFL was the first professional football league to effectively start a national existence, after numerous periods of unsuccessful tries. League membership slowly evened out between the 1920s-1930s as the league took on a more official organization. Many changes came about following the war, such as the resigning of African-American players.

The birth date of football is thought to be November of 1869. Initially, football was comprised of two games: running and kicking. The two games merged together and the ball began to slightly stretch out in order to accommodate more types of uses.
