Ever since I was a toddler, I loved sports. Baseball, basketball, it did not matter; I just liked to run. When I was around 4 or 5, I was in the living room watching the Steelers play the Cardinals and saw Santonio Holmes grab a game winning touchdown to win the Superbowl. I was so excited that I jumped up in the air and I told my dad, “Daddy when I grow up I want to play football and I want to score a lot of touchdowns just like 10 does.” Fast forward to the Fall of 2014, and I am in my 3rd yr in football, and I was killing it. I was starting cornerback, andwe won a championship. And I just went to Tennessee for a football tournament with kids that were a grade above me. Everything was going so well for me, but the one thing I was missing was a touchdown. That was the one thing I needed in order for me to say to my 10 year old weird self “I am one of the greatest football players at my age.” Now at that time I was starting cornerback on defense, but on …show more content…
I did well at corner-back too where I tipped a pass and I got two tackles. So I was ready to help the RB’s score a touchdown, and I was in the huddle When all of a sudden, my QB told me that I was going to get the ball on a counter play. I got really nervous when he told me this, But when I lined up for the play I remember what Bugs told me, and I got really confident. When he gave me the ball, I ran as fast as I could and juked out one kid, then trucked over another kid, and I was running away from at least 5 players ahead of me. And I thought to myself “oh my god” because at the time, I was like 4 foot 7, and they were like 5 foot 2. I ran as fast as I could, to the end zone and I scored, and everyone went bananas, my whole team came dashing over to me, giving me high fives and shoulder bumps. But I just stood there silently, smiled, and thought to myself “Thanks
As we were heading for the goal on another break away, the opposing team kicked it out of bounds by the goal. My sister Bailey, who is also on the team, set the ball up for a corner kick. Her kick was a beautiful, high, hard drive to the front of the box. I remember thinking of my trainer’s words, “Anything is possible”. I jumped up at the right moment.
We went back and forth scoring on each other, every mistake costing the other team a touchdown. It came down to the final two minutes in the game we were tied with them. Our coach had said that we need a stop, somebody needs to make a play. Little did I know at the time it would be me to make it.
I ran as fast as I can to the outside I had blockers iI make a guy miss then all of a sudden I got hit in the back and I got pushed for the first down. The next play we scored and won the game.
I will never forget that moment, when I caught the ball I took off, I juked to the left causing my other teammate to fall then I hit a spin move and cause another teammate to miss, I then ran for the touchdown. Ever since that moment the coach started me at running back every single practice and game. For it to be my first year playing contact football I excelled tremendously in our league gaining recognition from coaches that taught higher weight classes and also coaches from different
He was talented, The coach subs the man who couldn't defend Andrew and subbed me in. The team passed me the ball I dribbled rapidly to start a fastbreak. Andrew tried steal it from him I span around him and gave my teammate a alley oop. People on the bench started to gaze at me.
I said, “ I know that, and I want to be on the field”. So I finally moved to wide receiver,WR, and could finally play safety. Coach Minnich would come to me in practice and just say,” Couldn’t do this playing quarterback”.
I was a linebacker for the Cuba Rams. The play that I was injured during was a hail mary play and we were hoping to win the game. I jumped to catch the ball and got hit so hard, while in the air, I fell to the ground and knew immediately I had injured my back. I grew up watching football in my hometown and on tv.
I took off just like lighting the coach was on the sidling counting saying go go go I broke off four tackles and the las tackle I broke was big I have broken free and I got my longest touchdown run. I went on the sideline and coach was so happy I told him my goal was to run 80 yards but he said you got more than 80 yo ran 90 freaking yards that 's amazing. I was
I told my mom that I wanted to be out there one day and she would be my biggest fan and cheer me on to victory. She said “ Sure Connor, but you go a few more years to go.” My father was energized for me to play football since he thought I would be incredible at it. My dad saw a future of me go to college playing football and being the first one in my family going to college.
My whole life I wanted to be a wide receiver for the NFL. Once I got to high school no one knew my potential at all so, I sat on a bench every game waiting for a chance. I never got to play as receiver because the coaches moved me to a lineman practice. What do I look like playing on the line. I asked the coaches many times, if I could be a receiver and they never said I could be.
Football is a very popular sport. I only played football for two years, but I still very much so believe I am literate in football. I started out just being a huge fan of football, but I decided when I was a junior in high school to start actually playing. I was awarded “Special Teams MVP” of my team senior season, and I believe this award only goes to further my claim that I am literate in football. I began playing on the varsity team as a junior, with no prior football experience ever.
I notice one of my teammates Sebastian scoring and the whole team starts celebrating. As five more minutes pass and finally remember hearing the final whistle and I see everyone celebrating as we have won the championship. As we were done celebrating and packing our stuff we went in a room where I could see the big
I pushed myself and just four and a half weeks after my surgery, I had convinced Dr. Wobig and my trainer to let me play in the first game. I ended up playing in every single game that season and received 1st Team All-League titles for offense and defense, and 2nd Team All-State Linebacker. I was also named West Valley’s Defensive PLayer of The Year. to be told I wouldn’t be allowed to play the sport that is basically my life was one of the hardest things I’ve ever been told. Some people may have given up right then and there
This is what pushed me to do more research into National Football League (NFL) and see if there is a way to still incorporate football in my life without physically playing. In five years from now, I would have
A life experience was that my son becoming who he is in football. As a little boy watching him watch football on the TV screen and him say that will be him on that TV screen one day. As a parent the time wasn’t coming fast enough. When he was around eight or nine years old he started little league football. Every Saturday morning waking up around nine o’ clock being in the sun cheering, worrying if your child would ever get hurt.
