Have you ever just thought about going to other countries and being able to say you served your country over there? Well I have and that is what I plan on doing right after High school. I am going to go to the Marine Corps and serving my country the way I feel I have to serve it.
Going into the Marine Corps is something I have been trying to do, since I figured out what the Marines were. The Marine Corps is an elite branch of the military that requires hard work and dedication. In order for me to become a Marine I have to work as hard as I can, for as long as I can. Becoming a marine is a challenge most people do not want to accept. Marines are held to a standard that not very many people can hold up to. However I am willing to except the challenge and dedicate my life to going into the marines.
In the Marines I want to go into infantry and become a machine gunner or become a rifle man. All it takes for me to become eligible to enter the draft for the Marine Corps is to receive a high school diploma. Other than the high school education I will have to enter infantry school to become a machine gunner. It does not take much to get accepted into the Marine Corps. All I have to do is get my priorities straight and work hard, and have a lot of dedication to become a United States Marine.

A rifle man takes a lot of dedication to become. The reason I want to be a rifle man is because they are one of the best infantry groups in the United States military. Everyone I have ever told about me wanting to be a marine they all tell me I cannot do it, so that is another reason I want to go so bad. I want to prove everyone that has ever told me “I cannot do it” wrong. I want to make sure I get to come back and look them in the eyes and say “I told you I would come back a marine.” They are going to be
He then entered MMI (Marion Military Institute) in Marion, Alabama that same fall he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in December 1942. He then attended boot camp at the recruit depot in San Diego, California. Boot camp for Marines is the longest and the toughest military branch out of the five branches if you consider the Coast guard a military branch. Marine Corps boot camp will test you both mentally and physically through 13 weeks of strenuous obstacle courses and many sleepless nights in order to mentally prepare Marines for future assignments that they may encounter. After successfully completing boot camp comes MOS training (Military Occupational Specialty) this is where Marines gain their knowledge within the field they choose to pursue.
For me to be in the National Guard I have to take a test. On that test the better I do the more jobs that are open for me. Most of that test is Math so I have to study more. Then when I get the job have to do what I need to do to get this money.
Finally, I will discuss the considerations when considering joining. E. (Transition: So, let’s look at the U.S. Navy Corpsman). II. According to Wikipedia, The U.S. Navy Corpsman is an
Since I was ten years old, I have been a member of the Young Marines, a program dedicated to the enrichment of youth. Aside from my family and school, this organization has had an incredible impact on my life, not only providing me with many unique and amazing experiences, but by shaping the foundation of my character by instilling in me the three core principles of the Young Marines: Discipline, Leadership, and Teamwork and also by emphasizing the importance of community service. I have had many amazing and unique experiences as a Young Marine which included the challenges of promotion to become the senior ranking officer, learning many new skills such as CPR, teaching Drug Demand Reduction, leading and mentoring the members of the Unit, going on encampments and traveling. In my sophomore year, my Unit Commander, a Korean War veteran, selected me to travel with him to Seoul. Every few years he chooses a Young Marine to take to South Korea based on merit.
My reasons for wanting to attend a service academy are opportunity and service. Attending a service academy is an honor not experienced by many. I see the United States Naval Academy as a world of opportunity. Since I was younger, I have had a desire to protect and serve. I didn’t know about the Naval Academy until just a couple years ago, so I had my heart set on becoming a police officer.
Guns, violence, ignorance, and marines; how do these all link together? Over periods of time certain groups get stuck with reputations, which are either good and bad. Humans have a tendency to make assumptions or make sense of things, so individuals categorize people into groups. Many of these groups share common characteristics and abilities which can be misunderstood by individuals. This is where stereotypes and misconceptions are formed.
With Commitment your are expected to uphold Honor and Courage to the expectations of the Marine Corps, and to exhibit and share what we stand for against all odds. When you are honorable it's easy to
The purpose of the Marines is to develop quality citizens as leaders. It also teaches people how to fight for the nation by land, air and sea to protect its citizens and ensure their quality of life around the world. In an excerpt from the oath to enlist, it states,
I am very passionate about serving in the military, and want the challenge. In the words of my recruiter, I was “playing for the varsity, not the junior varsity”. The Marine Corps is a better fit over the Army for me because they are the first to the fight, are more physically demanding, offer excellent benefits, and I would be more proud of the title of United States Marine than I would be of anything else. I want to
As I am getting ready to begin my college years, my experience in America is getting richer every day. I have realized how much opportunities I have being an American citizen and living in this part of the world compared to the life i lived in Togo and I intend to make the most of it. I’m working toward my goals and one of them is to join the military. I always have the desire of serving people and I believe serving in the Military is one way to show my gratitude to my new country and its
I want to be a Warrant Officer because this is how I can best serve my country. Society expects me to fulfill an enormous amount of responsibilities. I will do so with the most humble head all while fulfilling my responsibilities. I am ready, willing and highly motivated to enter what is perhaps the most challenging chapter in my
What I have learned from experience and how it impacted me First and foremost, being in the United States Marine Corps for over 22 years I have learned a lot from experience. I learned just like in the military, in my civilian job now I am always on duty.
From the moment I was born I was considered a military brat, I was born in Hawaii at tripler hospital because my mom was in the army and stationed there, my biological father was in the marines. When my mom remarried when I was 7, she married a man who was in the Navy. Everyone thinks being a Military brat just means you know more than other people because you 've been more places and seen more things and you get a lot of stuff you want. This is not true at all. Coming from a military background means you never have stability, you are held to a higher standard than all the other kids, and sometimes it makes you want to be in the military and only focus on that.
Throughout my childhood and adolescent years, I always had a dream of joining the military. Though it was a choice, I still did not have any inside information of what it would be like, and the requirements and specifics of the Army. It wasn't until 2005 when I decided to join the United States Army that all my concerns and questions were answered by a recruit; and I was guided through the whole process to enter and prep for the Army. If it was not for the confidences and motivation of my recruiter back in 2005, I might have not made my leap and probably would not be in this uniform today. Becoming a member of the United States Army recruiting team means having a physical and mental toughness in order to perform efficiently.
Joining the military was a much-needed event. Before joining the military, I would stay out late at night with my friends and I really did not know what I wanted to do next with my life. This was of course something that I needed to change because I needed to have some idea of what I wanted. On September 11, 2001 while I was at school, I arrived to my second class of the day where the teacher was watching the September 11 attacks as they were happening live on TV. I was shocked at what was happening!
