The curriculum at WGU was very challenging, nonetheless it prepared me to become a safe and effective nurse. The BSN curriculum provided avenues to keep me up to date with safe practices and learn how to master therapeutic communication. Hi everyone, My name in Oscar E Hermosillo and I am from the NAU-Yuma nursing program. I have lived since I was 7 years old in a small town called Somerton which is roughly about 10-15 miles south of Yuma. My goals for future nursing practice are kind of up in the air right now.

These include the Vocational Nursing, Associate Degree Nursing, Baccalaureate Nursing for Registered Nurses and Master of Science in Nursing degrees. Students who complete the BSN Program will be prepared for graduate study and be eligible to take the Texas Board of Nursing’s National Council Licensure Examination (NCLE). The Online RN to BSN is a generic program to help registered nurses earn their degrees. This degree program enables students to integrate leadership, research, theory and skill knowledge into the practice of professional nursing care. The first class the students take is on professional mobility.

Nursing, and everything that it entails, cannot be easily described in just one simple word or phrase. It goes beyond the meaning of a profession and the stereotypical definition of treating the ill. Nursing is the “protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations” (American Nurses Association, 2010, p. 1). Therefore, it is a career that requires dedication, passion, critical thinking, and knowledge. It demands commitment and an understanding of its core values and concepts, as well as the nurse’s own personal philosophy and principles.

In 1870, nursing had been learnt from the mothers to the daughters. Now it has been changed to the school education that the students learn the nursing skill from the nursing professionals and the education programs of nursing keep developing from the 1900s to now that the diploma school has been changed to BSN, AND, and the postgraduate school has also been replaced by Master degree, CNL, PhD, DNSc, ND and DNP (Martha, n.d.). Therefore, the people have more chance to learn and be the nurse. Education programs also produce more and more professional nurses for the world to develop the nursing profession. Nursing education provides the nursing theories and practical training for the students to help them learn the knowledge of nursing and their duties, in order to protect patient safety and the safety of the public.

The school of nursing also stands out as a national leader when it comes to education of health professionals. I am very eager to start my experience as a Rutgers Undergraduate and I believe that it’s well known academic curricula of the baccalaureate-nursing program would be consistent with what I have learned so far. Not only do I feel that being accepted into the program would prepare me to become a nurse who is prepared to provide quality health care needs of the diverse population, but will also give me the local, national and international leadership skills for great health care

Nurses (both Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses) make up the largest part of the health care, and have greater opportunities practicing in different disciplines and departments. In Black’s Professional Nursing, he states, “the profession of nursing is more than ever requiring the education of well-trained, flexible, and knowledgeable nurses who can practice in today’s evolving health care environment.” (Black, 2017, p.1). There are different reasons that influenced my decision of seeking a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). Flash back to when I relocated to United States in 2011, my goal was getting into a pre-pharmacy program, then get into a pharmacy school.

All this education has provided me with the abilities, knowledge, strengths, work ethics to be a proud and efficient professional working in the competitive nursing field. The BSN program has provided me with new knowledge and new skills, that have helped me to evolve into a more competent and professional nurse with stronger nursing knowledge, ethics, and moral values. Each course that I took during the BSN program was a new opportunity to strengthen my knowledge, ability to do research, and critical thinking skills expanding my knowledge and making me feel confident of my abilities to work as an important part of an interdisciplinary team.
