Book Report On Night By Elie Wiesel

The Night is a book that catches your feelings when you open the book, and is written by Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel is a man that survived the holocaust in Auschwitz. He was born September 30, 1928, and died July 2, 2016. In his book Night, he explains his experiences at Auschwitz. As the book continues to come toward the climax when they arrive at the camp, Elie Wiesel starts to lose his faith.

Night by Elie Wiesel is a book about a boy and his family being deported to concentration camps and going through very rough experiences. Not unlike many writers, Wiesel takes his pieces and expresses them through emotions or words. These words and/or expressions help the reader feel what the character in the book is feeling. The ways Wiesel expresses the way Elie feels is through imagery, literary devices, and first person point of view. Elie Wiesel uses Imagery to express the character’s thoughts and feelings by explaining in great detail parts of a book to make the reader picture a scene or image.

The book ¨Night¨ is written by a Holocaust survivor and and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel, who went through terrible things during his time in German captivity. The events were unforgettable and life changing. He stayed with his father through all of these tough times. He escaped the terror of the Holocaust turning him into a savage even though it caused attacks from prisoners and insanity.

The death march in Night by Elie Wiesel is started when all the prisoners were forced to leave the camp that they were at and relocate to a new camp. The night was very cold and snowy, and Elie’s foot was already hurt because of some pus that was in it. His only choice was to go on with the march on a hurt foot or stay in the camp and probably die anyways. He decided to go on the march because he wanted to be with his father and he didn’t want to die helplessly. At around six at night, the entire camp lines up in formation and they all started marching block by block.

The book Night tells the readers how Elie Wiesel experienced the moments during the Holocaust. In the story he and his dad were separated from the the rest of the family, which was his mom and his sister. After they were separated from each other, his dad and him were going through some rough moments. The Nazis dehumanized all the Jew, so all the Jew wouldn't have any power by calling the Jews not by their names but their number, calling the them animals, and not giving food to the people who need it.

Night By Elie Wiesel Through his rough time at the concentration camp Elie did his best to keep his hope up. During the book Elie showed hope that kept him motivated to stay alive. In Night by Elie Wiesel it shows hopes keeps the spirit of motivation to stay alive when he was trapped under bodies, kept running/walking to the concentration camp, and keeping his dad alive. Hope was shown when Elie was trapped under bodies; he was motivated by hope to survive. In the book he said “ I succeeded to digging a hole in the wall of dead and dying people , a small hole through which I could drink a little air.”

While reading the book Night by Elie Wiesel, one of the things I learned about was the jews living conditions. I read about Elie living them with many other jews and it stuck out to me because how could a person live like that and stay alive? Every jew that was caught was sent to a concentration camp and had a total different way of lifestyle when being held there. Another thing that stuck out while reading the book was the SS officers. The SS officers are Hitler's protective unit.

The Holocaust The Holocaust that started in January 30, 1933 killed around six million Jews and killed the mother and sister of Elie Wiesel. The Holocaust was caused by Adolf Hitler was the worst thing ever and he killed people because they were Jews. According to article five in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, “It states that no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.” Author (Elie Wiesel) of the novel Night refers that Idek fornicated a young Polish girl “Idek jumped, turned and saw me, while the girl tried to cover her breasts.

The author Elie Wiesel,winner of the 1986 Nobel Peace Prize and a Holocaust survivor, published this award winning book in the year 1956. Now his word and his story has gotten to the public so now we all now know and understand the horror of the Holocaust.

He uses faith, identity and silence throughout the novel. The motif, faith is an important role in Night. When Elie was young, faith was a significant part of his life.
