Book Report On Night By Elie Wiesel

Have you ever cared for someone so much, that you forgot about your own health and safety, so you could focus on theirs? Elie Wiesel tells his story about his time in a concentration camp during World War Two in his very own book, Night. He was only 13 years old in the comfort of his home in Sighet, Transylvania, until the Nazis invaded and began tearing his life apart. Once Elie and his father get to Auschwitz, you'll see Elie's survival chances fall, due to carrying his fathers weight, only dragging him further down.

Elie Wiesel, the author of Night, was born in a town of Sighet, Transylvania, which is now known as Romania, in the year 1928 of September 30th. Elizer had three sisters and was pursuing Jewish religious studies at a nearby yeshiva, before failing to flee the country for safety from the Nazi Germany Soldiers. At the age of 15, he, along with his family and the entire Jewish population, were expelled from their hometowns and were forced to relocate to concentration camps. Due to this outcome, Elie and his father were separated from his mother and sister and was deported to a concentration camp in Auschwitz in 1944. They were later transferred to a “very good camp,” called Buna in Buchenwald.

Night By Elie Wiesel Through his rough time at the concentration camp Elie did his best to keep his hope up. During the book Elie showed hope that kept him motivated to stay alive. In Night by Elie Wiesel it shows hopes keeps the spirit of motivation to stay alive when he was trapped under bodies, kept running/walking to the concentration camp, and keeping his dad alive. Hope was shown when Elie was trapped under bodies; he was motivated by hope to survive. In the book he said “ I succeeded to digging a hole in the wall of dead and dying people , a small hole through which I could drink a little air.”

Eliezer is the main character throughout the story ‘Night’. The story follows him and his father as their Jewish ideology is tested. Throughout the story Eliezer's is dealing with the fact that even with faith and a celestial being, man can do appalling things to fellow man. Eliezer's faith is tested in many drastic scenarios throughout the shocking events. We are introduced to a young boy by the name of Eliezer early in the story.

In the memoir of Elie Wiesel, “Night” it tells his experience during the holocaust. Elie Wiesel changed from a spiritual, sensitive little boy to a spiritually dead unemotional man because before the holocaust he had a good life and family. Then during the Holocaust he lost everything and was poorly treated. Before the Holocaust Wiesel had a good life and had fun. He would go to school and believed in God.

The Holocaust is one of the most horrific events to ever happen during the duration human existence A.D. In the memoir, Night by Elie Wiesel, one reads about a young Jewish boy living in the village of Sighet, Romania. In the process, one gains only a small bit of insight into the horrors that The Holocaust was to its victims. Although one reads about the very explicitly and detailed writings of the camps and the deportation, it's only reading words on a page. It’s impossible to know the pain and suffering that these people went through because of all the terror tactics used by the Nazi party, as well as the abysmal atmosphere that was present at the camps.

“Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust,” (Wiesel, 1960, p.32). After seeing what was going on at Auschwitz, Elie had began to lose his faith in his God. Certain experiences of hardship and kindness can change their life.

In the book Night Eliezer came face to face to some of his greatest fears, separating with his family, didn’t know where they were going but all at once he felt changed. He didn’t feel like God was with him, he felt as if he vanished. They go to many concentration camps and work many hours, go through tons of selections, train trip, and running miles a day. Your time at the camp is either life or death swaying back and forth. “Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul that turned my dreams to ashes.”

For many people, they have to put themselves above all others in order to have a hope of life. They have to take the resources they can, while they can, which can make them feel guilty and selfish. Night, by Elie Wiesel, is a autobiography about Elie’s life during the holocaust. It shows how his friends and family were affected by the Nazi regime trying to kill them, the selection process where at a glance, half of his family got sent to die. It tells about the daily tasks he did in Auschwitz, and those he met in the death camp.

Though there has been many survivors of the Holocaust and the Rwanda Genocide, They are shallow numbers compared to the death tolls. One survivor of the Holocaust is Elie Weisel. Some time after the Holocaust, he wrote a book(Night) about his time there. One survivor of the Rwanda Genocide is Valentina. She has shared her stories of survival with others, to show that you can survive any challenge if you keep fighting the odds.

They thrived, then cried, and died. They were dehumanized, and so was society. Between 1941 and 1945, the Nazis attempted to annihilate all European Jews. This systematic and planned attempt to murder European Jewry is known as the Holocaust. There were actions taken at the time to show that people were anti-Semitic; hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group.

The Jewish Struggle in Ghettos By mid-1941, almost all Jews in occupied Poland had been forced into these overcrowded districts. This meant Jews living in Poland at that time had barely enough food, water, and clothing to survive, as so many people were put into one area to live. The reason for this was that the Nazis wanted to control the Jews and their whereabouts. The Nazis and Germans disliked the Jews, because they believed they were a source of “racial pollution.” Although people across Europe tried to help Jews escape the ghettos, they were unable to do so because the Nazis controlled most of Europe, created policies for Jews in ghettos, and living conditions were terrible for Jews.

They were murdered in mostly death camps. Camps and ghettos were a terrible place to inhabit because the Jews are separated from the entire world and have little clues on what is happening outside of there. Jews were killed on site for no reason like for example walking
