Hunting is a game where you can have fun killing a certain type of animal, but could be very dangerous at the same time. In “The Most Dangerous Game” Rainsford is a character that is a very good hunter. So one day him and his buddy's went out on a yacht and went out on the sea to go to the caribbean to look for this island to hunt Jaguars. But while on a yacht he feel of the boat and fell into the sea. Moving on he was on this Island and met this General.

Most Dangerous Game Argumentation Paragraph The story, “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is about Sanger Rainsford ends up on an island with General Zaroff, who hunts humans. Rainsford ends up playing General Zaroff’s game and becomes the huntee while Zaroff is the hunter. Zaroff loses the game and gets killed by Rainsford.

Zaroff went on about how much he hunts, but he got bored with regular hunting, so he created a new game with a animal with more reason--humans. Zaroff challenges him, a 3 day game where Rainsford has to get hunted by him, or torchered by Zaroff's servant, Ivan. In the end, Rainsford wins the game, then

Zaroff has been hunting ever since he was five years old, after his father gave him his first gun. After shooting turkeys, Zaroff wanted to hunt more animals, starting his hunt. He shot his first large animal at the age of ten. “I killed my first bear in Caucasus when I was ten” (Connell 6). The general has hunted many interesting animals in his life, but now finds them all boring.

Zaroff started telling me about himself- how he hunted animals in all countries until that bored him. He wanted to hunt to provide more pleasure and danger, so he was looking for an animal that could reason. You wouldn’t believe what came next- Zaroff hunted, or in my opinion, murdered, humans for game.

Zaroff knowing Rainsford was a great hunter he hoped that Rainsford would accompany him on a hunt; however, Rainsford accuses him of being a cold-blooded killer.

At the beginning of the story Rainsford is a stuck up man. He could not care less about any other living things other than humans. He believes all living wildlife are expendable and only there for his pleasure of hunting. During the story Rainsford has to make many quick and overall difficult decisions during his encounters with the ocean, General Zaroff, and the island wilderness to survive, that change how he thinks about animals.

The Most Dangerous Game Conflicts All stories have to have a conflict, the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell has three important conflicts. Man against man, man against nature, man against himself are the three main conflicts that take place. For man against man Rainsford and General Zaroff are fighting each other in the hunting ‘game’. For man against nature Rainsford is fighting the sea once he hears the gunshots and is trying to get out of the water.

Hunters believe animals are not capable of reasoning and they see them as something lesser than humans. Throughout time, these positions can change. The short story, “The Most Dangerous Game” written by Richard Connell, consists of General Zaroff being the hunter and Rainsford being the hunted. During the story, their positions change to the complete opposite.

General Zaroff is an amazing hunter, “[has] hunted every kind of game in every land” (). Since he has hunted every animal and was smarter than every animal, there was nothing left for him to hunt. General Zaroff had been hunting since he was a child, and he thought all animals were too easy, except one. “‘It must have courage, cunning, and, above all, it must be able to reason’” (). By this, he means humans.

His name was Ivan. Zarnoff told Rainsford that he was a hunter and told him he would hunt him as well. Zarnoff comes up with this game, the game was that Zarnoff had to hunt Rainsford and Rainsford had to run and hide so mostly not get caught by Zarnoff. On the first night, he hides in a tree.
