and wrong values in order to achieve the success I wanted. Values, beliefs and behaviors at work may be assessed in different ways, the people who work just to gain experience, people who work just to provide their family what they needed, or people who work just to have a success in life. My work values depend upon what type of work I have. • Professional growth – It enables us to grow as a person by having a work. My entire two years and seven months as a staff nurse have grown me as a professional and truly adapted what I have learned and experienced in both academic and clinical skills. Reading a books alone can retain sometimes I a short period of time in my mind. But with the combination of the two, theory and practical skills can make …show more content…
I have to have lots of trainings to refresh what I have learned from college. Ideally, cannot go through success if I do not have the experience and not fully equipped with the knowledge. As the modern technology increases, many advanced equipment and skills, which will be needed training before using and some of them become obsolete and replace in due time. In nursing profession, staff must have a lifelong in-service trainings and seminars to maintain professional expertise in related areas. Many health conditions have been discovered. Through continuous learning, we will be aware how to avoid, care, and manage in that particular condition. They said that prevention through being aware can cure and stop the spread of transmission. The challenge of being a registered nurse is how to become knowledgeable and competent because we are dealing with lives of the people around us. Every single action is vital and every second should not be disregard. Therefore, it has made me realized that even you had already encountered a specific diseases, skills, equipment and so forth we have to be vigilant for the continuous changing world of being not just a registered but also a professional nurse. In hospital setting, nurses must have a lot of courage. And have the knowledge in appropriate actions in delivering of patient care. Like for instance, I have to question the certain drug dose in the doctor. In this situation confronting a situation that has a threat to the patient and jeopardizing the patient’s safety. Inventive think of new ideas is another behavior that fits in this kind of values. I have only one career but I have a lot of creative ideas in using available resources. I have also to force myself in putting my multitasking skills in variety of way whenever you have a busy day in the unit. Through continuous education, nurses can expand their career in case management, pharmaceutical industry, research,
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
Soon after I crawled out of my hole of self-pity, I thought to myself, “First thing’s first, I need to get a job so I can support us.” And that’s exactly what I did. I now work at Speedway, and even though it’s not exactly my dream job, thinking about Izzy makes every mess I clean up, dish I wash, and every insane ranting customer worth it. I wake up every morning, and put on my uniform with pride, and gratitude that I have a way to provide for her. Having Izzy has forced me to learn pivotal values in life, such as responsibility, self-worth, selflessness, hard work, and keeping a positive attitude.
A specific example of a time I used the skill strong work ethic was at the daycare where I currently work. My boss seemed to being having a bad day so I put it upon myself to volunteer to do all of the sweeping and mopping and do all of the end of the day diaper changes. She usually does most of these things herself, but I don’t mind having more work to do and I like helping out. A time when I used my ability to work in a team was in my rhetoric class.
My Values and Beliefs of Nursing I believe that nursing is focused on the holistic care of individuals and their families in order to achieve and maintain an optimal level of health, a great quality of life, and comfort. This is done through promoting healthy living, providing a safe environment, preventing illness, and caring for the individual
The two traits that have consistently separated me from most people my age is my work ethic and my focus. My work ethic mainly shows up in sports, and business as those were more of a focus for me than school. Growing up I had a love for basketball, I was not the tallest, strongest, or most athletic kid on the court ever. But I had more heart, and desire than anyone on that court. It showed in my high school career.
Prompt: The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? “It 's not about how bad you want it. It 's about how hard you 're willing to work for it.”

My objective as a Nurse Educator
Professionally Not Professional Young people may be so naïve that they believe that it is professionally okay to send out an email to other professionals that uses slang, bad grammar, or misspelling within it. John Rumery, presenter of “Stop Talking. Start Writing. Get Moving;” told a room of young college students that if they are hoping to seek professional work after college, then they need to have great writing, analytical, and social skills.
Every nursing, in order to consider the profession must have an understanding of at least three of the five professional values, in my opinion. These values consist of altruism, autonomy, human dignity, integrity and social justice (Taylor 96). Beginning with the professional value of Altruism, the believe in or practice and self concern for the well-being of others (96). I believe that in order to be the best nurse you can be for your patients, you must understand the concept of altruism. As a nurse, your profession is to take care of people, if you do not know the professional value of altruism than you cannot possibly understand how important it is to care about the wellbeing of your patient.
When I raised my hand, and took my oath of service I had no idea of the journey Leadership Philosophy that laid ahead of me. Joining late in life was one transition, but the transition into the Non-Commission Officer (NCO) Corps, and a leader has been a very rewarding experience. The values that were instilled in me as a child and those that have been drilled into my make-up as an NCO are very similar. The tenants of the seven Army Values have been what I have lived by most of my life and career, however there are four out of the seven values that I hold most valuable and live out on a day to day basis.
My five signature themes were: Achiever- As an Achiever, “No matter how much you may feel you deserve a day of rest, if the day passes without some form of achievement, no matter how small, you will feel dissatisfied.†Sometimes people call me an overachiever, but that is how I feel is my normal. Harmony- I do not like when people argue because I feel there is a better way for everyone to get along. Once everyone is in harmony, life is much smoother. Input-
The professional nursing values I believe are things you can be taught and some you cannot. Nurses are special individuals who ultimately want to care for and help others as much as they can. I agree with all of these values and believe some I will need to work on myself such as competence, illness prevention and patient education. Others I believe I have based on my experience I have already had while caring for others. Some of the qualities I believe I have include: caring, compassion, dependability, empathy, focusing on the patient- defining quality of life, having a holistic patient centered care, kindness, openness to learning, respect for others their dignity and worth and sensitivity.
My Personal Philosophy and Values of Nursing Nursing is proving care, support, and serve people who are in need. The purpose of nursing is to improve patient 's health condition to a better life. The goal of this paper is to explain my personal philosophy and clarify some of my values of nursing. Personal Philosophy
Since the spread of formal schooling and education in human societies, fostering cognitive abilities, such as understanding, reasoning, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and judgment has been highlighted [1]. Problem-solving is an essential skill in today’s life [2]. Problem-solving is a goal-directed thinking [3]. It is a mental process, some logical, orderly, intellectual thinking that helps cope with problems, search several solutions and choose the best solution [4]. According to Moshirabadi, problem-solving is a systematic process and a problem-focused situation analysis that indicates the ability of individuals to overcome obstacles and to achieve goals.
Yeah...in retrospect, I was probably going overboard last night. I was trying to experience Chicago for all of us, precisely because of our collective lack of exposure to the city, and to the mindset that enabled me to rediscover it. Last night was my attempt to bring this experience back to all of you so you could get a taste of it, and then be inspired to go check it out for yourselves. I was also trying to get Dad to think more outside of the box - so that he could enjoy life more, and so that he would permit us to enjoy it too, without being on-guard. Now that Dad trusts me more, I thought I'd take a chance with him...
