"Thus with a kiss I die." In the story " Romeo and Juliet" by Shakespeare both love and hate influenced Romeo to die. However, mainly love influenced Romeo to die for many reasons. One of those reasons is that they are longtime enemies and are willing to do anything for each other. Another reason is he knows his name is a problem to Juliet and he wants to fix it but since he is a Montague he really can't so he kills himself just to prove how much he loves her. To begin with love killed Romeo for many reasons. One of the reasons is they are longtime enemies who are so in love they would die for each other. For example in the text it states, " A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life/ Whose misadventured piteous overthrows/ Doth with their death bury their parents strife. The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love." ( Prologue, 6-9) Understanding the information that has just been stated Romeo and Juliet are long time enemies who are in love and are at their final straw because their families are enemies and its unfortunate that they are so in love and causing more problems. But, Romeo wants to fix that. For example in the text it states, "Because it is an enemy to thee/ Had I written it, I would tear the word." (2.2.60-61) Having a clear idea on what this phrase is saying; Romeo knows that because of the Capulet and Montague being enemies he knows Juliet had a problem with his name and he wants to fix that. But, unfortunately since Romeo is a Montague he knows that because of his family he can't change it no matter how badly he wants to change it just for Juliet.
