Overall the industrialization had a greater positive affect on society because of child labor. It was cruel that the kids had to work in the factories. (They worked from five in the morning until seven at night when there were other activities . Document 7)( When there were no activities going on will they were working it would be from six in the morning until seven at night. Document 7)( They had only forty minutes of lunch and had to drink water when they got the chance too. Document 7) Later a man wrote about the kids that were working for a long time everyday saying that the kids should not put up with these long hours and ages six to thirteen had to go to school to learn math and writing. This made the children very happy. However, it later change the ages six to eighteen had to go to school and learn math and reading. Less kids were dying and it had Economic growth. There were no kids dying of lung disease at a young age and there were less pollution in the air for them to breathe because they were basically in school the whole time. In the 1700’s people had to ride horses to get from one place to another and that took a year and a half because it was very far. Then later the men started making cars and trains. (The trains would take people from one place to another in about six months Document 5). That is faster then getting from one place to another on a horse. The cars would take three hours to get from one place to another. That was a huge improvement then the
Industrialization’s negative effects were child labor, family separation, and poor working conditions. Since the beginning of time, children have toiled on family farms. When Industrialization came, the children moved
While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of the dangerous working conditions with no compensation for injury, it was actually a positive thing for society. Industrialization’s positive effects were that there were more jobs, child labor laws were created, and there was better transportation. The first thing was that more jobs were introduced. This made it easier for people to provide for their family, and although everyone had to work, they were all able to get a job so they could work.
While some might argue that industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of new machines, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were child labor, disgusting living conditions, and hard, dangerous, filthy jobs for little pay. One of the negative effects of Industrialization was child labor. Many children worked during the Industrial Revolution because they needed to support their families. Lots of them started working very young.
Environmental damage, exploitation of workers, and overpopulation in cities are all negative effects of American Industrialization. American Industrialization had many effects come out of it, both positive effects and negative effects. The positive effects of Industrialization are that it made work cheaper, employed thousands of workers, and improved people’s daily lives.
The Industrial Revolution’s effects can be argued either way for the better or the worse. Many people have their different opinions. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative effects for the society because of the horrendous living and hazardous working conditions, it was actually a positive thing for the society. Industrialization’s positive effects included economic growth, new inventions that increased productivity, and a higher standard of living helped people live better and more efficiently.
This next document shows the negative side of children working in the factories "This shows the ugly side of child labor, Lack of safety features/unsafe working conditions, the children working are very young they are obviously not in school/lack of education” (Document8). In this document they talk about how children working in these factories don’t get a good education, they do not have enough time to attend school. It also shows how they are very easily injured from working in these harsh conditions. Not only was there unequal pay for women, boys, and girls, but there was
Industrialization’s negative effects were children had to work without an education, pollution came from all of the factories,
he Industrial Revolution overall had a positive effect on happiness in the workplace, village space, and resources for workers. The first example that shows it was positive is that the children were happy and had never been beaten in work. According to the 3rd document it says “They seemed to always be cheerful and alert” this tells me that it was positive because the children never got beat and they were always happy and cheerful to be at work which could cause better work ethic. Another positive thing is that in the village they were given more places to stay and they were fed and clothed.
The Industrial Revolution that began in Europe changed society in many ways. Some of these changes were positive while others were negative. A positive effect of the Industrial Revolution is more jobs are available. In document 1a only two people is needed to operated a machine and in document 1b more than one person is needed to use a machine.
Introduction: Industrial Revolution was a time when, mass production took place in England around 1790 and ended in 1870. They employed children because they were small, they could pay them less money, and therefore made more profit themselves. The conditions of the factories were not good for the children and it had a smell that was unbearable. The dust, soot and oil suffocated them half of the time, they were whipped for sitting down, suffered from thirst and hunger, and many more disturbing things. The children would get injured often when fingers were crushed and arms were broken, some girls got black marks on their skin from being whipped several times.
The Industrial Revolution was a horrific time in the 1700s by the fact that it caused bad pollution and children would be worn out at the end of their work day. The greatest aspect of industrialization was that the kids and adults had good surroundings. “Of these there are 500 children who are entirely fed, clothed, and educated by Mr.Dale” (Document 6). The quote is evidence that shows the kids were well cared for.
Child labor during the 18th and 19th century did not only rapidly develop an industrial revolution, but it also created a situation of difficulty and abuse by depriving children of edjucation, good physical health, and the proper emotional wellness and stability. In the late 1700 's and early 1800 's, power-driven machines replaced hand labor for making most manufactured items. Many of America 's factories needed a numerous amount of workers for a cheap salary. Because of this, the amount of child laborers have been growing rapidly over the early 1800s.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
Child labor was a great problem in the Industrial Revolution. Factory owners usually hired women and children rather than men. They said that men expected higher wages, and they suspected that they were more likely to rebel against the company. Women and children were forced to work from six in the morning to seven at night, and this was when they were not so busy. They were forced to arrive on time and they couldn’t fall behind with their work because if they did they were whipped and punished.
Child labor. A topic widely frowned upon, may be beneficial when executed properly. Employing children can possibly provide stability and safety to a child, and opportunities for their communities to advance. In its simplest form, child labor can be beneficial to communities and families when laws and rights are respected. Keeping children off of the streets is a benefit having to do with child labor.
