A superintendent, Gus Sayer, from South Hadley High School informed the staff and students about the fifteen year old Phoebe Prince's death. However, the small town of South Hadley already knew Phoebe Prince was dead. The message about Phoebe Prince’s death was sent out on Thursday and by Friday there was a student-run candlelight vigil on the school's softball field. Local papers began to say students knew Phoebe Prince was miserable at school. These local papers had horrible headlines such as “Teenager Bullied to Death” and “...Phoebe Prince 15, Suspected of Committing Suicide Because of Bullying”.

Anne Beatty is a schoolteacher in South Central Los Angeles who has seen a lot in her career. Although she only tells of a few different experiences in her essay, she gives the general idea of what the school and area is life. Not only does she tell stories, but she does a lot of reflecting throughout the essay about what she experiences. The essay focuses on the intense violence in the area and how common deaths are in the area that they have a routine in place at her school. If these murders were to happen here, in 2015 there is no way that the Pemberton’s could get away with it. Serena would not be considered manipulative, aggressive and ahead of her time, but instead she would be classified as a sociopathic serial killer. Rachel would not struggle as hard if she had counselors, financial support, and the correct health care necessary for her and her child. This book is revolutionary in the sense that people now can read it and see these differences and not only appreciate the time that we live in, but also have a greater understanding of the evolution of psychological studies and how the world was when these classifications came

It takes place in a typical high school that fits with the target audience of teenagers/young adults. It resonates with the reader through Samantha’s feeling of guilt after socializing with people that aren’t healthy for her and immediately regretting it, as she tells herself multiple times, “I shouldn’t have gone” (Stone 73). It highlights specifically the theme of self awareness, as Samantha slowly realizes that she needs to put her needs before others in order to keep herself safe. Since the setting is in a place so similar to the target audience, the relevance helps prompt the reader to apply life skills and lessons that Samantha used to their own similar situations. In addition to the self awareness theme, the book has many strong messages that Samantha learns along the way.

In this article, “Lets Kids Run Wild Online” by Danah Boyd, Boyd explains how parents are mistreating teenagers when using the internet. Explaining how “helicopter parents” are restricting access to certain media and limiting their overall use of the internet. Parents being feared that their children will encounter dangers while using the internet block and limit access to many sites. I for one am against parents restricting access to social media and the rest of the internet as it could stunt their performance as an adult when growing up, as they could not have essential skills that they should have learned in their teen years.

According to the article, Rituals Sault, by Elizabeth Svoboda, the author argues that cyberbullies use the social media platform to target, terrorize, and harm others. To add, she provides the reader with information on why the cyberbullies attack others and how to stop them. In the article, Irituals Sauls, Elizabeth Svoboda’s essential focus is that cyberbullying has become a significant issue within the teenage community. Svoboda explains what cyberbullying is, why and how it is an issue, situations in which cyber bullying led to other issues, how cyber bullying created a new social pattern, methods on how to fix and prevent the issue from becoming more than what it already is.

Generally speaking, in high schools the principals, teachers, and guidance counselors are supposed to help students in need. Everyone knew Carrie was being tormented but no one helped when they should have. The critique suggests that the adults don’t care about Carrie in the slightest, making them no better than her peers. “Adults in Carrie also set the stage for adults to come. Without exception, they are a distanced, vague, or dangerous.

The entry shows Anne maturing by Anne seeing what she has wrote and realizing how petty she is being. Anne starts having a better relationship with her mom, after she reads the bad things she wrote and the bad things she said about her mom. There are three reasons I know this.
