Leadership is an action defined as leading a group or organization . There are many great leaders today and many great leaders who legacy will always live on. Such as , Martin Luther King Jr. , Caesar Chavez, Mother Teresa, Bill Gates, Rosa Parks, Abraham Lincoln, Ghandi, General Colin Powell, Angela Merkel and many more . Each of these leaders had their own style and accomplishments to make them the leaders they are today . Martin Luther King jr., a civil rights activist , a pastor and most importantly a leader. King was best known for his “I have a dream” speech. King had a great influence on the African American society in the 1950s and 1960s. He also earned 34 United States awards to include 16 unique ones, 7 foreign awards, and 10 badges. He participated in the Vietnam War, Invasion of Panama, and Persian Gulf War. General Colin was assigned as the 12th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1989 to 1993. Angela Merkel is one of the worlds most powerful woman. Merkel has transformed German politics since she was voted into office in 2005. Her most significant achievements at home and abroad have seen her top Forbes’ most powerful women list eight times. Merkel was trained as a physicist and she entered politics after the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall. After rising to the position of chairwoman of the Christian Democratic Union party, Merkel became Germany's first female chancellor, and one of the leading figures of the European Union. Each of these leaders knew success didn't happen overnight but is, and always will be, the culmination of a lot of hard work. A leader gets up early everyday and rolls his sleeves up because success it is not just about thinking up a good idea.
