The War of 1812 was more significant for the Canadians. This was for a myriad of reasons. It had lasting consequences on the people, symbolic and historical issues, and the war was more significant and beneficial for the Canadians. Even though the Canadians dealt with extreme hardship, trauma, and loss of family and friends, in the end they came together as a nation and reflected on their own victories.
