World War I affected the lives of many. The character Paul in the book "All Quiet on the Western Front" breaks down what war is like. High school students are recruited into the war. As young adults, these students have hopes and dreams to become writers, doctors, teachers, etc. All their hopes to become something great died when they entered the war.

I think that World War I is an example of what is seen over and over throughout history: miscommunication, misinterpretation, and malfunction of international relations. This war is often thought to have been fought over the death of one man; when in fact, this incident was essentially used as an excuse to instigate a war. A war that took the lives of millions of people (not just physically), did not really resolve anything, and did not make a difference for anyone's borders. Not much was accomplished during this war mainly because of inefficient military strategies. It was not because the weapons used during the Great War were unfit, they definitely were.

World War I, or also known as the War to End All Wars was a global war that began in July, 28th, 1914 and ended in November, 11, 1918. The war included 70 million military personnel, most of them were Europeans who fought in one of the most enormous wars in history. Around 7 million civilians and over 9 million soldiers were killed by the gruesome new technological and industrial advancements in weapons of destruction, including a new devastating type of strategy called Trench Warfare. Trench Warfare caused devastation in every front and in Europe, however it also caused destruction in the minds of soldiers. There were many pros and cons of World War 1. Some cons had some injustice and cruelty, while the pros were amazing and spread all over the world. Like I said before, I worked as an employee during WWI (World War 1). The good thing that happened during the war was that the jobs were more efficient.

Although the end of World War I did not resolve any of the conflicts that prompted the war, it had multiple effects on the world in a variety of different ways. It helped the United States to make policies that would help, and also hurt the economy. Fears created from the war brought political changes, and with all the political and economic changes, there was a large magnitude of cultural differences as well. All of these changes brought the U.S. closer to where it is today. There were many presidents that took office from the start of the war to the end, President Theodore Roosevelt was the president in office when the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or the FBI, was created.

Hitler was the main aggressor during 1939 who everyone appeased to, who is infamously known for his rise to power, his persecution of Jews, and his attacks on the world to dominate, that killed so many. Neville Chamberlain, the British Prime Minister, believed in the policy of appeasement and appeased Hitler at the Munich Conference which eventually lead to the start of World War II. The Western Powers responded to aggression with appeasement, and in 1939 the world was plunged into World War II, proving to the world that collective security is a better response to aggression. In all types of war, every individual will have either a positive or a negative emotion or feeling. Most of the time, the individual will leave war with a negative influence that will cause them struggles or stress in the long run. One war that has influenced many people is World War Two.
