MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--Jackson Cramer and Kyle Davis both had three hits apiece as West Virginia University thumped in-state rival Marshall 14-7 on Tuesday at Monongalia County Ballpark. The Mountaineers (16-10) scored 14 runs on 16 hits. The Thundering Herd (12-14) drove in seven runs on 10 hits while committing five errors. Cramer went 3-for-6 with a home run and a double.

The 8th graders knew the game would be close after a narrow win previously at Green Co. Metcalfe started out hot outscoring Green 12-2 in the 1st quarter and powering the ball to the hole. However, the 2nd quarter was all Green Co. outscoring Metcalfe 16 - 2. The half-time score showed Metcalfe down 14 - 23. Rebounding was in favor of Green Co. with them pulling down 36 to Metcalfe’s 25.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--Despite having a four-run lead after seven innings, the West Virginia University baseball team lost to No. 3 TCU 8-6 in front of a record 3.415 fans at Monongalia County Ballpark on Saturday afternoon. The Mountaineers (20-13, 7-4 Big 12) scored six runs in each of the first four innings on 10 hits. The Horned Frogs (28-6, 9-2 Big 12) rallied with a run in the sixth and five runs in the eighth inning. Michael Grove had another strong outing, tossing seven innings.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.-The No. 25 West Virginia University baseball team split a doubleheader with Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon. After suspending the opening game of the series due to lightning, the Mountaineers and Sooners finished Friday 's game as part of a doubleheader on Saturday. Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, WVU sent freshman Sam Kessler (1-2) to the mound. The right-hander pitched 2.2 innings, allowing just two hits and picking up his first career win. Jimmy Galusky led the Mountaineers with hits and second baseman Kyle Gray drove in the eventual game-winning run with a two-out single in the sixth inning.

FORT WORTH, Texas--The West Virginia University baseball team will face its toughest challenge of the young season when the Mountaineers take on seventh-ranked TCU in a three game series. WVU (10-4) begins conference play after defeating Redford 6-2 on Tuesday night. Sophomore Shaun Corso led the offense with two hits and a career-high four RBI, including the game-winner in the third. Freshman Jimmy Galusky and senior KC Huth are leading the Mountaineers ' offense with .333 clips. Freshman Darius Hill has knocked in a team-leading 11 RBI for WVU.

The Paladins ' Will Gaddis (5-2) was just as efficient. He held the Mountaineers to three hits through five innings. WVU got on the board in the bottom of the sixth to pull within three. Sophomore second baseman Kyle Davis and senior center field KC Huth singled.

However, WVU got the run right back in the bottom half of the inning on a Jackson Cramer home run to right center. The Mountaineers added another run in the sixth to go ahead 5-1. In the seventh inning, WVU tacked on three more runs. Cramer and Kyle Davis scored on Stephens ' throwing error.

Pomeroy, the hero of the game, scored 10 points and had four rebounds. Mike Ridgley scored four, had five rebounds, two assists and two steals, Will Cook dished two assists and Austin Pruitt had two rebounds, two assists and two steals. “It was a real team effort and I couldn 't be prouder of my guys,”

Varsity Football Wins 33-15 to End the Season The Jenkins County Varsity football program ended its season in style Friday night with a 33-15 victory over Montgomery County. The region crossover game was hosted by Jenkins County High School with kickoff beginning at 7:30pm. The crowd was extremely slim despite the perfect conditions with clear skies and temperatures in the low seventies.
