The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet's Death

Romeo, an overly dramatic character, is one who does not think things through. Romeo’s death was caused due to Friar Laurence, who failed to send a letter informing Romeo that Juliet was simply in a death like sleep. Romeo, being one to jump to solutions stated, ‘Noting this penury, to myself I said, “ An if a man did need a poison now”… (Shakespeare 5:1 Lines 51-52)’.

Romeos and Juliets Death Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play about two love-struck teens that eventually falls in love. They have to face obstacles just to find a way to be together and eventually have to secrednize their marriage. The characters Friar Lawrence, Romeo and Lord, Lady Capulet are primarily responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. They all have things they did that leads to Romeo and Juliet’s departness. Also, the decisions they made and the problems they caused such as ruining true love.

Romeo is to blame for Mercutio’s death in Act III of Romeo and Juliet. First of all, Romeo did not fight back when Tybalt insulted him. Tybalt calls Romeo a villain and other various names, but Romeo responds by saying (paraphrase), “I love you more than you believe for we are family, even if you are oblivious to this fact. I love the name Capulet as much as I love my own name”(3.1.72-75). When Romeo says this, Tybalt becomes confused and enraged.

Who is to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s Death? In the devastating romance, Romeo and Juliet shows an illustration of how young love is able to cause destruction, not only in their lives but also the people’s lives around them. It also shows how other actor’s thoughts affected the people close to them, but the main question is, who is responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet? The death of Romeo and Juliet was not their fault but Friar Lawrence's. Friar is to blame, not only for one action that contributed to their death, but for three actions.

The question of who is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet can be complicated. Almost everybody in the play can be blamed because everybody has pitched in a little. There are many characters in the play by William Shakespeare who wronged Romeo and Juliet. The characters that contributed the most to Romeo’s and Juliet’s deaths are Friar Laurence, Lord Capulet and Paris. First of all, Friar Laurence is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet because he has done some stuff that Romeo didn’t know about.

There are many characters that contributed to the tragic acts of love and suicide in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, but who is the most to blame? In the famous play, we have two families, the Montagues and the Capulets, who have been feuding with each other for many years. Romeo, from the Montague family, and Juliet, from the Capulets, have fallen in love. Due to the distasteful acts from each side, their children must go to great lengths to keep their love a secret.

In the Elizabethan tragedy “Romeo and Juliet” written by William Shakespeare, the characters that are known to be adored, can even be the cause of adversities throughout the beautiful play. Many characters could be accountable for the death of Romeo and Juliet. It might be the Nurse, who had very poor judgement, stringing Juliet along in a relationship that wouldn’t last. Would it be Tybalt, the violent cousin, who resented Romeo? Unexpectedly, the person who is to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet is the carefree Romeo.

Shakespeare has Juliet to fight herself on taking the potion or not. She begins to show even more desperation as her argument continues. Juliet sits alone on her bed thinking thoroughly and shows some interest in taking the potion “ Romeo,Romeo,Romeo! Here's drink. I drink thee” She takes the sip of her potion and lays on her bed await of the deep sleep.

Tybalt always wanted to fight Romeo. Tybalt and Mercutio get into a fight because of some upsetting words Tybalt said. In the fight Tybalt kills Mercutio, which get Romeo upset. Then Romeo kills Tybalt, which gets him banished form Verona, Italy. So the long-standing family feuding and fate are the cause of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.

There are many deaths in the story of Romeo and Juliet. Mercutio’s and Tybalt’s had been one of those that were most influential to the story. The passing of Tybalt created chaos between the two families, especially the two lovers. With Romeo banished, Juliet came to the resort of faking her death so that Romeo could save her, but as we all know, that plan

When she discovered this she went to Friar Lawrence in tears. She says, “Do thou but call my resolution wise, /and with this knife I’ll help it presently” (4.1.54-55). Juliet is making the wrong decision in this quote because she can’t handle the pain of Romeo leaving. She is saying that she knows her thinking is not wise and was not thought through, but she needs to do it and with a knife she can make what she is thinking (kill herself) happen.

Then, through letters, Romeo will be informed of this, to meet her as she awakes in the tomb, and they will run away together to Mantua. His plan has many variables that could go wrong, yet he does not consider the precariousness of any of it. He does not know whether the potion will even work in time for Romeo to find her, if at all, or if it will be her groom Paris to find her “dead”, or what would happen if Romeo does not receive the letters. The fact that he never even thinks about all of these major dangers demonstrates his naïvety. As the knowledgeable adult in the situation, what he needed to do was to guide Juliet to safer alternatives, perhaps discussing with Capulet.

Seeking to flee her father’s demands about marrying Paris, Juliet ran to Friar Lawrence in pursuit of a plan, or else threatening to take her own life. Once Friar Lawrence finally gave in to Juliet’s pleas, he comforted her by saying, “Let not the Nurse lie with thee in thy chamber. / Take thou this vial, being then in bed, / And this distilling liquor drink thou off” (4.1.92-94). This proposition made the entire Capulet family believe that Juliet was dead, but unfortunately it was not passed on to Romeo in the right means, which made him believe that Juliet was truly dead.

“Romeo is banned from Verona, which leads to him to seek out some pretty bad advice and guidance from Friar Laurence.” (Shmoop.com). The news Romeo receives is that Juliet is dead and in the Capulet's tomb Romeo does not know abou the fact he is supposed to be at Juliet's side when she wakes. Romeo is not aware of Juliet and Friar Lawrence's plan with the potion so in turn he takes his own life thinking Juliet is really dead. When Juliet wakes she finds Romeo dead next to her, she takes Romeo's dagger and stabbed it into her chest killing herself.

Romeo’s decision making skills amongst other flaws like impulsiveness and rashness, led him down a path that ended in his death. Juliet’s blind devotion to Romeo and haste in decision making left her feeling helpless and alone upon the realization that death was her only remaining viable option. The many minor characters in the play all helped push Romeo and Juliet’s already harmful decisions towards a place where they both ended up dead. Throughout the course of the play, it becomes very apparent that it’s not fate that causes the problems for Romeo and Juliet, but the disastrous decisions of everyone in the play combined, that create the plethora of problems that our two main characters have to deal
