The separate powers from the 3 branches were established so that one branch is not too powerful than the other. The legislative branch is made up of congress which includes the senate and the house of representatives. The role of the legislative branch is to make necessary laws and proper laws that reflect the constitution. According to Article 1, section 1 “All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives”. This is showing what the legislative branch is made up of, and how it differs from what the other branches are composed of. Congress is responsible for making bills that the President signs to officially become a law. Congress also creates a budget for the federal government, and uses the government spendings. This role differs from what the executive branch does. The executive branch is made up of the President who is the chief executive, the presidential cabinets, executive departments, and federal agencies. The role of the executive branch is to enforce laws of the U.S through foreign and domestic policies. And the judicial branch has the power to declare laws unconstitutional. Through these various roles of the different branches, the constitution guards against tyranny as each branch has a different job that plays a part in the government. If they all had similar roles, they would become indistinguishable which would result in them overpowering the needs of the citizens which leads to a
The Legislative branch and the Executive branch are given their own individual jobs. They may be able to do what they are given, but if they do something illegal, the judicial branch comes in. This is seen in document 3, it demonstrates checks and balances. The legislative lions and Executive Eagles show how the
After experiencing that the Articles of Confederation granted too little power to the federal government, the Founders decided to replace it with the Constitution. The U.S. Constitution was created to protect citizen’s rights and provide more power to central government. However, the Founders did not want the government to hold too much power, they created three branches: legislative, executive, and judicial branch so that one branch could limit the power of the others. This is also called checks and balances. Each branch carries different tasks but still works together towards the same common goals to ensure that the U.S. is developed and thrived.
tyranny Imagine being in a country where tyranny is the order of the day, your king has all the power of the government and is abusing it to harm the people. Now luckily we live in America where we are protected by the Constitution against tyranny. When the Constitutional Convention came together in 1787 to draft the constitution of the United States because the Articles of Confederation gave too much power to the states. Whilst writing the Constitution the delegates had to figure out a way to create a strong national government without creating a tyranny. But how exactly did the Constitution guard against tyranny?
The judicial and legislative branches posses a power of their
Each branch held a different duty and responsibility. The legislative branch includes both houses of Congress: the Senate and the House of Representatives and its job is to create laws. The laws then passed to the Executive branch which headed by the president where they are approved or rejected. The approved laws are enforced by the Judicial branch which consists of the supreme court and the lower federal court where they interprets the laws. These three branches are not entirely separated nor completely of one another.
The branches of government have a system called Checks and Balances. Checks and Balances is used to ensure that one branch isn’t getting more power than the others. The judicial branch is made up of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. They can declare laws and executive actions unconstitutional and interpret laws. The Executive branch is made up of 15 members; the President, Vice President, and the Cabinet.
The main responsibilities of the legislative branch is to make and pass laws. The Senate and the House of Representatives must work together in order to run smoothly. Congress

This ensures that no group or person has the power to control government from within. The legislative branch makes the laws and the congress is made up of the Senate and House of Representatives. Each state elects two Senators for up to six years a terms.
The United State Constitution is a written document that is considered the supreme law of. It is a lay out structure of the American government. The Constitution founders created the government system in which there is a balance of powers and extensive checks and balances. They gave more specific power to congress, because they worry that a too powerful President would repeat the wrongs that the king of England had inflicted on the colonies. if a politician violates the rules the courts are empowered to enforce the rules that’s written in the Constitution.
The Executive branch executes laws and is the president. The Judicial branch judges laws and is the Supreme Court. The Legislative branch creates laws and is the House of Representatives and Senate. James Madison said in Federalist Paper #47 Document B, “the accumulation of all powers...in the same hands...may be justly pronounced the very definition of tyranny.” This helps protect from tyranny because the Separation of Powers prevents all power from being in the same hands.
In addition, the executive branch was responsible for enforcing or vetoing laws passed by Congress (in addition to its other powers). As for the judiciary, it is responsible for interpreting federal laws and the constitution and for overseeing the decisions made by the federal and state courts. Before when it was unable to address economic and boundary disputes, the judiciary under the constitution was able to address a wide range conflicts. That means that we need the legislative branch, which is responsible for making laws, coining currency and declaring war. The executive branch led by the president of the United States enforces laws. And last but not least the judicial branch comprises a nine-justice Supreme Court and other federal courts, to interpret laws and determine how they apply to individual situations.
They implement the laws created by the legislature and enforce the orders of the courts. The three branches of government consist of the Judicial Branch, Legislative, and Executive Branches. Each branch works independently from the other as a Separation of Power so that no one branch can exclusively control a function.
The Judicial branch composes of the court judges whether actions violate laws and where laws violate constitution" This shows that the separation of powers allows for the branches to constantly check each other and to ensure a fair and equal government. In conclusion, the separation of powers helps control the government and prevent them from breaking the rules of the constitution and how they should govern. The Separation of powers allows for each of the branches of the government to check each other and ensure they all follow the rules and laws set by the constitution. Separation of powers is a key factor in our government
