Child vaccinations ensure that children have a well-armed immune system to fight off deadly diseases. Vaccinations contain antigens that trigger the immune system to make antibodies for that specific disease; this allows the body to think it has been infected, without causing the person any symptoms (Reddy 1). Throughout the United States, parents have been debating whether to delay, refuse, or accept the vaccinations that are given to their children. Why would you not want to give your child the best possible chance to fight off a deadly disease? Vaccinating children does not only affect the child, but also the community. Vaccinations are covered by all child insurances; costing parents very little compared to having many hospital bills if …show more content…
“A study of nearly 100,000 children found that toddlers known to have an elevated risk of autism were no more likely to be diagnosed with the disorder if they were vaccinated against measles, mumps, and rubella than if they weren’t . . . the diagnosis rate for high-risk children who were vaccinated was the same as for immunized children with no family history of the disorder” (Healy 1). What research has found is that there is a link between autism and “exposure to metabolic abnormalities during a crucial part of fetal brain development” (Healy 1). Researchers have also found a link that the sperm from men who have autistic children have distinct patterns to the way the sperm regulate gene activity (Healy 1). The mother having Type 2 diabetes has also been a repeating factor to children developing autism. The risk is greater when the mother develops the Type 2 diabetes during pregnancy. These findings not only prove that the link of autism to vaccinations is completely false, but a child’s chance of being autistic stems from before or during pregnancy, way before a vaccination is given to the
People continue to believe that vaccination cause autism because of the way our mind is set up. Our mind is set up to come with solution to a new problem based on the past information related to the current problem or based on previous experience, sometimes this can be good, however it can lead us to ignore the other side of the coin, and make conclusion based on little or no information, and refuse to change our beliefs after find out more information. We don’t want to admit that we are wrong. We look for evidences to support our own false beliefs instead of changing our beliefs. Michael Spector is a professor of pediatrics at the Harvard school of public health.
Vaccinations have proved to be more effective than ineffective, therefore it is beneficial to get them. Vaccinations are important in keeping children and the people around them safe and healthy. “In order to provide the best protection against diseases, it is recommended that infants and children receive
Outbreaks of dangerous childhood diseases like the measles is one of the many reasons every child should be vaccinated. Vaccinations also protect the community, defend future generations, and are safe and effective. The first reason every child who can should be vaccinated is that vaccinations protect the community with herd immunity. When most of a community is vaccinated against a contagious disease, most members are protected from it because there is little chance of an outbreak. Even those who cannot be vaccinated, such as infants, pregnant women, or immunocompromised people are protected because the spread of a contagious disease is contained.
Vaccinations do not cause harm and are not linked to autism, parents not vaccinating children is the true cause of harm. Non-vaccination leads to the spread of diseases causing death and disablement in its wake. We must protect the weak in our community by immunizing those whose immune system is able to be vaccinated. By not vaccinating we are being negligent and putting not only our child in harm’s way but other individuals who have not been immunized as well. To protect our community we must mandate all children regardless of their parent’s beliefs or religion be vaccinated.
Really. Scientists have been saying this for a while. In fact, in 2004 the Institute of Medicine, put out a detailed, thorough report saying that there was no link between thimerosal and autism. The institute is the health arm of the National Academy of Sciences”. (“Vaccines Do Not Cause Autism”)
Within the topic of immunizations, I have decided to focus on the effects that immunizations are having on children 's immune system. My working thesis states that many more children are not being immunized, which could be a contributing to the increase in disease that we haven 't seen in years. Immunizations are the process by which doctors introduce an immunity to children through a series of vaccinations. Vaccinations are small injections of a particular stimulant to fight against the disease. Within my research, i 'm looking to prove that when people choose not to vaccinate their children that they are endangering their children and possibly other children around them.
Several religions morally oppose vaccines such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Amish, Judaism and also some members of the Christian faith. “The First Amendment of the US Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”” (“Should Any Vaccines,” 2015). These arguments support the view against mandatory vaccines. These arguments seem valid but the reality is that not all diseases have completely disappeared therefore, vaccinations are still extremely important and viewed as necessary. While some diseases have relatively disappeared, a parent should want their child vaccinated to protect themselves and others, including future generations.
It might bother Goldstein that 1980 there has only been 8 recorded cases of children developing autism after receiving the HPV vaccine, but when further research was done into these 8 cases if was found that the chemicals in the HPV vaccine did not directly cause autism. But even if vaccines had a small chance of causing autism, that is still better than not receiving the vaccine and having a massively greater chance of death from measles or small
Children should be required to take vaccinations because it is important for them to have healthy bodies that can fight off diseases at such young ages. Vaccinations in young children will save their lives and prevent them from harmful bacteria that can cause a sickness. “Immunization has been called the most important public health intervention in history, after safe drinking water. It has saved millions of lives over the years and prevented
Imagine your child slowly losing her vision or suddenly having seizures for no known cause? You remember the last time your child visited the doctor, she is up to date on her latest vaccinations, shouldn’t she be protected? The answer is no! The ingredients in vaccinations are so harmful, they are causing more diseases than actually curing them. Nobody suspects something that is supposed to help them, actually harm them.
Vaccines are the most reliable option when it comes to improving an individual’s immune system. Horton states that another common myth is that parents don’t have to vaccinate their children with same vaccinations they received. Immunity from vaccines do not pass from generation to generation; only genetic immunities have that ability. When countries stop or reduce the amount of vaccinations for a certain disease, there is always a dramatic increase of cases
Countless adults are surprisingly unaware of the affects of not vaccinating their children. Altogether, 2.5 million deaths are prevented each year with vaccinations, and seven thousand per day (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services). “ Using vaccines to help eliminate diseases is essential in reducing the childhood mortality rate,” says the World Health Organization. Vaccines are crucial for a child to receive in order to be protected from many serious and deadly diseases; therefore, vaccinating children should be mandated by law.
It is very important for all children to be vaccinated because vaccines could potentially save a child’s life. Some complications I see with this topic are that some people believe vaccines may cause a child to have extreme side effects or that vaccines are not made with safe ingredients. This
Comparing health from children who are vaccinated to children who aren't, has an outstanding result realising that the children that weren’t vaccinated are usually up to five times healthier than the vaccinated ones. Teachers, do you honestly want your students being consumed with a disease that could possibly spread to you, all because you believe vaccinations are signified to everyone. Trust me, you would not like it if all that was around you was; fevers, fatigued people, diarrhoea, stuffy noses, and sore throats, can’t you just hear the sounds of sniffing and scratching, “Put an end to it and you won't need to”. Children and beings are not beneficial despite being loaded with bacterial toxins. The manufacturer vaccine inserts offer lists of known reactions – Many which are permanent, life-threatening or worse.
According to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Vaccine Education Center, every year in the United States around 700 children (younger than 5 years old) got meningitis, 17,000 had infected bloodstream, and 71,000 got pneumonia from pneumococcus. Despite the parents’ fear of letting their children get vaccinated, they are vital to a child’s - and everyone else’s - healthy life. Everyone should be required to get the basic immunizations because vaccines can protect weakened immune systems from uncommon infections and lower the risk of people catching common infections. As well as keep it safe for people to travel international without the worry of becoming sick.
