The Trial of all Trials:The O.J. Simpson Murder Case The case of the century, the one that everyone made sure to keep up on through the many months it was on; “People of the State of California vs. Orenthal James Simpson.” This case is one that nobody will forget. There were many months of blood, sweat, and tears put in by both sides for the final verdict, O.J. Simpson had been found not guilty. It all started on June 12, 1994 at around ten P.M. when Nicole Brown- Simpson and Ronald Goldman were murdered(Linder). Brown-Simpson is said to have been basically slaughtered with her head almost detached from her neck(Linder). Ronald Goldman is said to have struggled with the attacker for about thirty minutes before being stabbed to death. (Linder). Brown-Simpson 's dog was the one to cause a neighbor to call the cops by barking, because there were no gunshots to set anyone off. A district attorney named Gil Garcetti wanted to file the charges in downtown Los Angeles, instead of Santa Monica, where the murder occurred. Many people did not like this idea because the jury was made mostly of Latinos, African Americans, and Asian Americans; which would in turn help O.J., an African American himself. A Santa Monica jury would have been more of a caucasian based jury that might not have liked O.J(Linder). The prosecution also wanted to get a lifetime sentence in prison, rather than the death penalty for Simpson, considering this would be easier to do. At the beginning of the second arraignment on July 22, Simpson was asked how he pleaded to the two murders, and he said “Absolutely, one hundred percent, not guilty.” By saying this, O.J. broke a courtroom practice that says the accused may only use the words “guilty” or “not guilty” in their plead. O.J Simpson went on trial for the killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman 22 years ago. The heavy coverage started even before the trial began.
As we all know, O.J. Simpson was acquitted. The court had ten out of twelve jurors find Simpson not guilty. One reason he was acquitted, was because the glove found at the scene did not fit. It simply would not go on Simpson’s hand.
She mentioned that there was a lot of talk going around in the city of Okeechobee, and that there were comments made by prosecutors prior to the jury selection that adversely impacted results. “Everyone knows everyone in this small town, it is not absurd to think that word of mouth spread rapidly.” The justices did not seem entirely satisfied with this statement, but they continued arguing in legal jargon that I could not for the life of me understand. The trial was quickly wrapped up after this, with no real solution as to how to move forward. The entire ordeal lasted around 35 minutes, and the next hearing was set about a month from this one.
OJ Simpson was a very achieved person player until he made one big mistake. The trial of OJ Simpson was a long stressful process to prove a star innocent or guilty of murder. This took Place in the state of California on October 3, 1995. OJ was tried for a murder crime of his ex-wife and another man. In the end OJ turned out to be not guilty of this crime.
After only four hours of deliberation, the jury decided that Simpson was not guilty. The case has been described as the most publicized criminal trial in American history. The media was all over the case throughout the trial, giving the outside world as much information as possible, allowing the people to form their own opinion; most of which being that Simpson was surely guilty.
When O.J. was arrested, thousands of people arrived up at the police station that O.J. was at to interview him. The trial went on from November 2nd, 1994, to January 24th, 1995, and then to a verdict on October 3rd, 1995, which turned out to be not guilty. Tons of services decreased in activity due to everyone watching the trial. So much work stopped on that day due to the verdict, an estimated $480 million dollars was lost in productivity. During the trial, the prosecution thought that they had a very strong case, even with no murder weapon or no witnesses to the murders.

O.J. Simpson was a famous football player and that was accused of killing his ex-wife nicole brown , also her boyfriend Ron Goldman. They were brutally stabbed to death on June 12, 1994 at the resident of Nicole brown condo in Brentwood. Before the bodies were ever recovered Oj had packed his bags and caught a flight to Chicago, later he received a phone call saying that Nicole Brown was murder. The cops wanted to talk to him and later he had lead the cops on a hot pursuit chase and they apprehended him.
