The Noise On the night of Halloween all of the myths and legends of the supernatural come true. And these are not just children dressed up. These supernatural beings are real. I am going to tell you the story of my encounter with one of these beings. It was around the corner, I could feel the very presence of it. In the movie that my friends and I were watching, a teenager was walking through the hallway of his school, after hours, and when he turned a corner, his possessed teacher attacked him. It was very obvious, to me, what would happen to him. “Let’s do something else. This movie is terrible,” my friend Alfie said. Everyone agreed. We could not think of what else we could do and were bored because we did not go trick-or-treating this

The annual Phi Alpha Theta (PAT) initiation brunch is one of the most exciting events to take place every year. It took place on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia and it was nice to see familiar faces, while meeting the new members of the organization. Guest enjoyed some omelets, prime rib, and pancakes, while Dr. William Haddad gave a powerful talk entitled “An Ode to Secular Tyrants: Reflections on the History of the Modern Middle East.” After the keynote, address came the initiation ceremony that included the traditional reading of the “Six Ages” of History. Thirty-six new members joined the ranks of Phi Alpha Theta and became apart of something much bigger-
Today I am honored to be standing here presenting the Conn Smythe trophy to my friend Duncan Keith. The Conn Smythe is awarded to the most valuable player during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I first heard of this tremendous defensemen back in the 2009-10 season where he helped prevail the Chicago Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup victory since 1961. It seems like Duncan never has a bad season and makes very few mistakes on the ice. The amount of time he puts into this game really shows his dedication and love for hockey.
One day my sister Dakota, my uncle Raven, my mom, and I went to a farm the day before Halloween. At first we were just going to get a few pumpkins but then, I saw a corn maze. I asked my mom “ Can we go in it, please,” My mom said,” If it is free.” I told her thanks. We went to a pumpkin patch to get a couple pumpkins.

Good morning, Trust you had a wonderful weekend, hope the screenwriting and projects are coming along. I forgot to mention the film screening Thursday, February 16 on campus. The film, 13th, is a documentary by director Ava DuVernay and makes an impactful connection between the 13th Amendment of the Constitution and the increasingly high rate of mass incarceration in the US, criminalization of African Americans, and privatization of prisons. If you are on campus and can come out the screening begins at 4p and a student-led discussion will follow at 5:45-7p.

All Hallow 's Eve, or as it’s known to everyone who 's not a priest in a B horror movie: Halloween, has never been a pre-holiday season staple in my Southern Baptist family. My parents have never embraced the spooky side of Halloween. While the other kids were cramming entire chocolate bars into their mouths amid heated debates over how many rolls of Smarties it takes to equal a fun size Twix bar for a trade, I was learning how candy corn can remind me of Jesus. Not only are my parents morally opposed to Halloween, but we also live off a highway in the country where the trees form a tunnel of foliage over the road almost cheering on drivers as they fly around corners like NASCAR racers. If I had ever dared to go out trick-or-treating on this Daytona speedway of a road, I would have
King Hamlet’s ghost in Hamlet plays a very significant role in Shakespeare’s play even though he only appears briefly in the very beginning and two other times throughout the play. King Hamlet’s ghost furthers the play in many ways. He affects action by setting the play in motion, he affects the theme of revenge, and he helps develop other characters, specifically his son, Hamlet. He sets the play in motion by causing the wheels to spin inside of Prince Hamlet’s head, the ghost is the whole reason for Hamlet trying to extract revenge upon his murderous Uncle Claudius who is now the King of Denmark. The ghost affects the theme of revenge by causing Young Hamlet to be seized by vengeance, the whole play turns into a story of Prince Hamlet trying to avenge his
One night at exactly ten o'clock Ella Chesterman, a fifteen year old, heard a loud and strange noise. She looked around as scared as a mouse trying to see where the sound originated from. There appeared to be nothing strange outside until…

Halloween Journal For my journal I am choosing C; my most fun halloween ever. I can’t recall how long ago this was but it was a few years ago. One year when we thought we were too old to still go “trick or treating” all of my friends and I still dressed up and decorated a house just to get in the sprit of things.

My family is now gone, forever. Whilst all of the people in the theme park ran away from it as quick as possible, someone grasped my arms. His face deformed; his eyes were as dark as the night-sky; he was powerful and fearful. He gave me a message and
