Creativity is an important skill that everyone should use continuously. In the short story, The Cat in the Hat, it shows two kids who are home alone and don't have the creativity to think of something to do, until the Cat in the Hat shows up and presents his creative thoughts on having fun. In the article, "Why Nurturing Creativity in Kids is so Important", explains to us about how creativity is needed in everyday life and why everyone should be encouraged to use it. The text’s The Cat in the Hat and "Why Nurturing Creativity in Kids is so Important", prove that in order for a person to be creative minded, creative thinking must be encouraged. For instance, if creative thinking is not encouraged, the skill will be lost. In the fiction short story The Cat in the Hat it proclaims, “Too wet to go out and too cold to play ball, so we sat in the house. We did nothing at all ” (Suess). The two kids couldn’t play outside because the wet and gloomy weather was not allowing them to. They couldn't use their creativity to think of anything else to do, so they sat inside the house doing nothing. This proves if creative thinking is not encouraged, the skill will be lost because they didn't have the creative minds to think of something entertaining to do. Another quote from The Cat in the Hat is, “But our fish said no! no! Make that cat go away! Tell that cat in the hat you do not want to play ” (Seuss).
