The beginning of the United States was given a self-government that took it to a new heists of political and economic systems that would soon be established. The Election of 1800 had revolutionized the American system known as” The Revolution of 1800” which became a turning point resulting in a non-violent, peaceful transition of power in politics and foreign policies. The Election of 1800 consisted of two dominated political power, known as the Federalist and Anti-Federalist who both sought for unity among the people. However, the Federalist soon began losing their stance in the government because they supported a strong national government that distrusted the people in a ruling government.

DBQ: Political Disputes 1820-1860 For forty-four years, the United States of America was a thriving country. We had won our independence from Great Britain and we had started to create a country that would change the world. Yet, in the year 1860, a joined country and political agreement between all states seemed utterly impossible. People fought with each other so deeply about slavery, the country was divided between slave and free states. By the time of 1820 through 1860, political disagreement grew so large, there had been only one answer.

In conclusion both the Federalist and the Democratic Republicans had strong options about the Alien and Sedition Acts, most of which were different in relation to what was constitutionally right or wrong. John Adams truly tried to do something proper regarding the acts but it sadly backfired when he discovered the citizens of the United States enjoyed their personal freedom. Although I would have managed the Sedition Acts differently I believe this event contributed greatly into the shaping of our government since it was still pretty clear that our Founding Fathers had no idea how to run a nation. This event only lead to the discovery of political parties and the truth about personal opinions regarding the community members of this society.

With the reception of the United States Constitution in 1789, new and joined country was conceived. Differences were well-set on by numerous pioneers through bargains. In the summer of 1798, Congress decided to pass the Alien and Sedition Acts, which were four bills that limited the rights of foreigners who lived in the United States. The first act declared that the president could deport, or hold captive, those living in the United States if the states were at war with the home country of the immigrant; this was known as the Alien Enemies Law. This takes away the person's right to freedom because they were judged on the state of their country. Much like the first act, the second act allowed the president to “expel” an immigrant, however Congress limited this expulsion to two years maximum; this act was beyond unfair to the people who could be deported because it did not give them the right to defend themselves

Congress during John Adams term in office showed political divide by creating four debatable laws known as the Alien and Sedition Acts. They argued that these laws were needed to protect the country from troublemakers like Citizen Genet. Three of the four laws were directed to aliens which are noncitizens. In the beginning and throughout the nineteenth century conflicts began to emerge about in whom had the powers and final say over laws, and the enforcements of laws. The fight over the need of the federal government to create a national bank plus, the debate over slavery end up dividing the country and in the process creating dual federalism. Dual federalism divided power and authority of each governing body but, left much authority to the states. This caused important laws like minimum wage and child labor laws to be overlooked by the states and considered unconstitutional.

Throughout the years of 1860-1876, several events occurred, that were said to have “amounted in a revolution” over time. Complete succession of South Carolina from the Union in December of 1860 led a trail of states to leave over the course of time, leading to issues for the Union. Equal rights and privileges, and power of the federal government became topics that most often created enormous debates in these chaotic 17 years.
