Sometimes the world can seem like a dreadful place surrounded by brutal situations with no way out. Child labor, bullying, and world hunger are just some examples of those situations. These circumstances can lead to physical injury, social problems, emotional problems, and even death. Luckily, some teens around the world have decided to stand up for what they believe is right. They change the world by making things better for us. They care and try to change things to help us. They make this world a better environment. Such teens are called teen activists. Teen activists may become who they are because of some of their personal struggles or they might get inspired by others struggles. For example, Malala Y. went on a TV show called Comedy Central. When Malala was 15, two Taliban soldiers shot her in the head because she tried to stand up for girls education. She explained how the Taliban came and started shutting down schools. She mentioned that her father was a great encouragement to her and was the reason she continued speaking. She explained that she tried to go to every media show she could find to spread the word. Another example is Alex Libby. He was a victim of bullying at his school. On the school bus, kids punched, stabbed and choked him just because he looked different. Alex just wanted some friends back then so he just put up with it. The principal of the school didn’t believe Alex’s mom when she said that Alex was being bullied on the bus. The filmmaker Lee Hirsch secretly filmed Alex being bullied on the bus and at school and made it into a documentary called Bully. The school was showed the film. A couple of months later, he switched schools, and became very popular as a result of the film. He was on ABC news so that he could talk about the film. He expressed how he felt being bullied on the bus, and life in a new school. Alex was a victim of bullying but he started standing up for himself, and now he helps others cope with
In the short story “Fear” by Gary Soto, and “The Case Study”. There are bullies that show to be caused by identity and choice. These bullies made choices that resulted in them being mean or rude in any way. “Fear” was about a kid named Frankie T. who had a broken home and no father, he was a bully at his school so he would hit kids and steal their lunches. “The Case Study” is about a group of popular kids (and then the whole school) who bully one person because of an opinion they had before.
For a while, he thought that this was the best time of his life because he was not going through the pain of being bullied. Then he noticed that the kids were not noticing his existence at all. At 17 years old, he learned a lesson. That lesson is that rejection is not our greatest fear. our greatest fear is to be invisible.
No one thought the Taliban would hurt a child but one day a man shot Malala in the head in her school bus while she was coming home from school. Thankfully she survived, and continued to speak out about her the right for girls to have access to an education. After the Taliban started attacking young girls, Malala decided to give a speech. She named her speech, "How dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education?" Malala did not stand for such cruelty from the Taliban.
The word bullying has now been defined to mean a typical adolescent response to deem to be an outsider. This term fits perfectly for a few characters in this story

Courage’s means strength in the face of pain or grief. The novel is called Witness Hesse (2001). The story takes place in 1924 in Vermont. It is important for parents to stop labeling everything thing their teen does as “teen rebellion” (Abowitz). And to stop overly judging what their sons/daughters wears, listen to, and how they speak; the more we label them as teen rebels, the more they will feel like they are
She was bullied so badly that it resulted into pulling her hair out every time she cried so she could calm down. She didn’t let this stop her from becoming a successful author though instead she says it made her better because of the emotions she experienced. This shows she is resilient because even though she was extremely bullied to the point of self harm she still manages to be successful in life. Another example of extreme bullying was when Andy took Stephan to a bridge where they assaulted him and disrespected him. During this point in time, the town began to trust Stephan and Frank because they realized that they were nice people that caused no harm. However, in the eyes of Andy and the other pitiful teens, they thought Stephan was a mistake from God and was disgraceful to Christianity. With this, Andy displayed extreme bullying as he ‘whipped [Stephan] back and forth” and was eventually swung over the bridge where he took his last breath (Greene 141).
Imagine going through a breaking point in life. A point to where it is so awful and unbearable. Going through life complications will and can affect an individual. Oppression can affect how oppressed people think, including loss of hope, making changes in society, and having acceptance.

Alex Libby was tired of people being mean to others and to him. So Alex decided to take part in Bully so that people would stop tormenting him. Being on Bully help Alex a lot. While he was on the show, he was in a 2-year depression from all of the bullying. After the show was over he wasn’t being bullied anymore.
