Hunger Banquet
Volunteering at the Hunger Banquet at Montgomery College is one of the best experience of my life. Volunteering at the Hunger Banquet, I learned and developed new ideas on how to help people with an insufficient meal. At our first meeting at the Hunger Banquet, we discussed in detail what we hope to achieve during the program and how volunteers and attendees can help to achieve the goal of hunger awareness. Our mission at the Hunger Banquet was to help fix Broken Food System in our community and extend it to other municipals. Across the globe humans face poverty, unemployment, natural disasters, and other life-altering problems. The thing that those problems have in common is causing the pain and misery of food not being on the table. Many people and organizations are fundraising and collecting donations to help those in need. Programs educate and teach people to create self-sustaining food sources. However there is one very powerful and reputable group that has the most power to help the cause of hungry children in the United States and that group is the federal government.
Hunger is a serious problem throughout the world, but today I will be focusing on hunger in america. Just for reference, I don’t mean the time between breakfast and lunch. I mean people who don 't know where their next meal is coming from, or are starving. I will be delving into the problems that exist, systems set up to help people do, and what an average person can do.
In the United States there are many children and adults that go hungry, due to financial problems. With the economy and how high cost of living is, it’s hard to provide, food for the family. The results of hunger on children in America are not having the right nutrition, can have serious implication for a child’s physical and mental health. Also food insecurity is harmful to all people, but it is particularly devastating to children.
Did you know that 1 in 5 U.S. kids don’t get the food they need every day? This negatively impacts kids’ health and development, but this can also negatively impact them academically as well as emotionally and socially. No Kid Hungry is an organization that is making a difference regarding this problem. No Kid Hungry was founded by Billy Shore and his sister Debbie Shore in 1984. Since then, No Kid Hungry has raised and invested more than $528 million in the fight against hunger, and has won the support of national leaders in business, government, health and education, sports, and entertainment.
In a country that wastes billions of pounds of food each year, it's almost shocking that anyone in America goes hungry. Yet every day, there are millions of children and adults who do not get the meals they need to thrive. We work to get nourishing food – from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers – to people in need. At the same time, we also seek to help the people we serve build a path to a brighter, food-secure future.
In the discussions of food insecurity, one controversial issue has been the prevalent misconception of why people are suffering from obtaining nutritious food on a consistent basis. On one hand, Frank Eltman, a writer for the Business facet of the Huffington post, argues that university students are facing food insecurity due to college expenses exponentially rising within the past decade. On the other hand, Adam Appelhanz, a police officer featured in the documentary “A Place at the Table,” contends that due to budget constraints he has not received a pay raise in the last four years, and is now inevitably utilizing a local food bank in order to ensure that he has something to eat each month. Others even maintain that food insecurity is synonymous
People living in poverty can’t afford or can’t obtain nutritious food for themselves or their families. This makes them weaker and more exposed to diseases. Food is the source of all energy. Without food, or good health how is it possible to make something of yourself? You become weak, hope less and even
I have recently found out how horrifying and heartbreaking hunger can be in the world. If our generation doesn’t do anything about this huge problem, who will? Did you know that the majority of hungry people in the world are women? Also, most hunger in the world is in countries who are struggling in war or ethnic conflict. We need to do something about this

The fact that Americans, home of some of the most obese humans in the world, are going hungry is indiscernible. Today I stand before you to explain why we, as fellow Americans, need to extend help in the growing effort to fight the war against hunger in America. Before learning what you can do to help, we must first understand the extent of hunger in America. Then we will discover the cause of hunger in the United States. Finally I will present several ways you can contribute to the fight.

Fighting also forces millions of people to flee their homes, leading to hunger emergencies as the displaced find themselves without the means to feed themselves.3 Across the world so many people are struggling for food because of war. This can happen because the countries are poor or air raid can strike things that were helping to grow food and to have fresh water. People get pushed out of their home and then the hunger population grows, by a lot. Natural disasters such as floods, tropical storms and long periods of drought are on the increase -- with calamitous consequences for the hungry poor in developing countries.3 Natural disasters, it happens. Things such as tornadoes, hurricanes and floods leave people to starve.
A. People need food for them and their loved ones to stay healthy and energized because without healthy food they cannot grow up smart, strong, and provide for their loved ones. 1. Without the right nutrients, the body doesn’t function right which causes illness and diseases. 2. People who live in poverty are malnutrition because of that are a lot more capable of dying faster.
There are many causes or situations that contribute to the widespread problem of starvation in Africa. The main cause is extreme poverty and low incomes
