Studied of the Maxism theory about film studied there is a level between the rich and the poor people. First of all, in this film it shows the different kind or step of dancing between the lower class and the higher class. For the higher classes, the dancing is all about fame and they all want to make name for themselves, but yet again, it being totally strict for making new dances. It shown it the film where Scott's mom Shirley Hasting (Pat Thompson) was to obsessed of winning the Pan Pacific Grand Prix so that she train her son to become a champion but it is for her not for her son. It then create a gap between the family. On the other side, for the lower class dancing it is all about for fun and making close to the family. It is all about creating bond between community. For example we can see at the ending scene of Scott and Fran finish dancing at the back stage. The scene continues with every short of the other character watching Fran and Scott, some of them looked
Auteur theory is an important mode of film criticism that indicates the extent of the director’s involvement in the final output of the film. As it has been previously mentioned, Spike Lee’s films express certain notions about race that emerge from his personal viewpoint as well as from his political and aesthetic beliefs. The focal point of this chapter is the auteur theory and its relativity to Spike Lee. In order to prove the connection between the theory and his works, it is necessary to refer to Lee’s biography, since both his background and distinguishable personality have contributed to his technical skills as well as to his unique style as a film director. The particular chapter will also include the synopsis as well as the technical analysis of each film correspondingly.

The concentration is on comparing and finding the changes that history made to this movie genre, especially considering the gender roles. The Introduction It is often said that the element of surprise makes the movie more interesting and leads the plot. There are many masters of storytelling
This film is an effective thriller with unpredictable scene and great film work. Camera angles are shown in two different ways, high and low to show in relation to the subject.
Rhythmic editing, usually dictated by music, describes an assembling of shots or sequences according to the rhythmic pattern. It can be a narrative, as in the movie Sherlock Jr, or a music video type collage, as in Sam Hunts Take Your Time. In both cases, music takes the center stage and dialogue is suppressed. In Sherlock Jr, there are many forms of editing which highlight the films magnificence.
Camera movement and angles are what captivate the audience to keep their attention throughout the entirety of the whole film. Sometimes a simple camera movement can make all the difference in the
In this paper I hypothesize that A Voyage to the Moon was most innovative in cinematography and editing. Although mise en-scene was the main focus of the film, I hypothesize that mise en scene wasn’t as innovative as the other two. As mentioned earlier, mise en scene made A Voyage to the Moon easy to understand and follow along. In the first scene of the film, this power
Tim Burton is a famous director who puts a lot of originality into his work. Burton uses editing techniques, music and sound, as well as shots and framing and camera movements to determine the mood of the scene. Editing is one of the techniques Burton uses to create emotion and suspense in the audience. One way Burton does this is by using fade in Big Fish, Edward crosses paths with Karl who was waiting for him on the longer road.
This essay will discuss the uses, strategies and the meanings that are generated by editing in cinema. The films that this essay will be focusing on are Psycho and Singin’ in the Rain. Both of these films are very different to each other and therefore use editing in varying ways in order to give the audience a different perception of the characters as well as the setting that these characters are involved in. Psycho focuses on building suspense for the audience throughout the film using editing, camera work and sound. This essay will be primarily focusing on editing with the discussion of camerawork where relevant.
The editing here is reminiscent of Russian montage editing and creates a panicked feeling in the audience. The second edit I will look at is when ray drives out to a field and buries Ray alive which through the use of editing becomes one of the most suspenseful moments in the movie due to the shorts being much more drawn out. The camera also switches between being at Marty’s perspective and Rays perspective. The final edit
Over the past century, film has served as a powerful means of communication to a global audience and has become a vital part of the contemporary culture in a world that is increasingly saturated by visual content. Due to the immediacy and the all-encompassing nature of film, the process of watching a film, is widely perceived to be a passive activity by the general masses. However, quoting Smith in his article about the study of film, “nothing could be further from the truth.” The study and understanding of film as an art form enhances the way we watch and appreciate films. It requires the audience's active participation and interaction with the film in order to fully comprehend the directors' intention behind every creative decision.
Parallel editing was present in the film wherein it was edited in a way that two scenes were alternating to make it appear that they were happening simultaneously (Lorber, 2010). High and low angled shots were also present, and panoramic shots as well. The editing that I liked the most was in the scene when The Machine Man was made to look like Maria. The surge of electricity in this particular scene and the orbits going up and down The Machine Man was what amazed me. It is shocking that in order for this to happen, the people responsible for editing had to film this frame by frame so imagine the hours, days, weeks or even months that were put into this particular scene.
When looking at films you have to look at every aspect of the film. When it comes to most people they will watch the film and not notice little details such as framing and editing. Now being an editor my self, this is one issue that bothers me with casual viewership of movies or any other types of film. Thats when they think the editing was just done and that it takes not effort and people think that the clips are just put together. I can safely say that this is 200% false and that being an editor takes a ton of thought and process going into how a clip is placed, how much time before cutting it or anything along those lines.

The observation of baseline data assisted me in concluding what stimuli were responsible for my behavior. The first being a result from carrying out various tasks that causes an extensive amount of mental strain or frustration. Meaning that certain types of tasks such as, quizzes, exams, or working on projects caused me to subconsciously pick and irritate my face. I have concluded that this behavior is used as a method of concentration or relief in a stressful or irritating situation. This theory could be further applied to participating in the university cheer program.
