Bessie started living in depression after Christopher wanted nothing to do with her and Bessie threaten to tell his wife.

The father of her children was a white neighbor called Mr. Sands. She did not love Mr. Sands, but just got pregnant for him so her master could forget about her. This did not stop her master from his sexual harassment towards her. When her troubles became unbearable, and also the thought of her children going through the same thing she was going through, she hatched an escape plan. Her master searched for her for years, while she was in her hiding out in her grandmother's attic.

The narration was told through stain glass windows, beginning the story with a French Prince named Adam who has a lack of empathy and his judgement of appearance towards others. After denying an old beggar woman for shelter on a cold night, he finds out that the woman is actually an Enchantress and turns him into a beast. The only way the curse can be broken is if the Beast receives love in return along with him learning to love before time is up. The time is dictated by a rose that the old beggar woman offered the Beast. One of the main character’s Belle offers to take her father’s place as being a prisoner when her father Maurice is caught trespassing.

The land of stories: the wishing spell, the first of the Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer is a beautiful story for children of any age to rediscover the magic of the fairytale world. The story begins when 12-year-old twins, Alex and Conner Bailey receive a storybook from their grandmother. When the book starts shaking and glowing in the middle of the night, the inquisitive Alex begins to investigate the strange phenomenon, when she loses her balance and falls into the book, to which her frightened brother follows. They find themselves lost in the fairytale world; only their stories have moved on without the rest of the world.

However, when “Cinderella” wanted to go to the ball, she could not go because “she does have a suitable dress to go to the ball.” When her two mice friends named “Jacques and Gus”, made her a dress her stepsisters ripped it apart. At this point, she wants to give up; however, her “fairy godmother came, made a carriage for her out of a pumpkin, and made her dress with a glass slipper. She was beautiful. She went with the prince to the ball.

Atwood began the story as the female lead being beautiful, but changed her to being average looking, and changes the stereotypical evil stepmother to an evil stepfather. On the contrary, Perrault follows the basic generic conventions of fairy tales by having the prince marry the beautiful princess and writes the main antagonists as two older women. Perrault uses his story to frame the prince as the hero who saves the sleeping princess and her kingdom, and later saves his family from his evil cannibalistic mother. Perrault’s story has more of a magical aspect than Atwood’s since he includes fairies and curses in his story. Perrault’s story offers an escape from the trials and

Cinderella's step family treats her very poorly so she runs away into forest and meets a charming prince who she then falls in love with. The prince assists she goes to a ball being held soon to see her again. Right when Cinderella gives up all hope to go to the ball her fairy godmother appears and makes her a beautiful dress, glass shoes, and a carriage out of a pumpkin with a spell that will make everything disappear at midnight. Ella goes to the ball and as soon as she knows it she is at the ball dancing with the prince. She was having so much fun she barely notices it is about to strike midnight and rushes out leaving only her glass slipper to track her.

The movie “Ever After” by Andy Tennant, and The short story Cinderella by Perrault, are both very different takes on the story of Cinderella. Perrault’s version of the story is the story that most of us have grown up with. It’s captivating and magical, but also it’s very one-dimensional, with a “magic pumpkin” and a “fairy godmother”. While, Tennant’s version is by far more realistic in nature, there is no magic pumpkin, but there is a prince who becomes her husband, an evil stepmother, and a pretty, kind hearted girl who slaves away doing as her stepmother demands. The “fairy godmother” does not randomly appear from no where, in “Ever After”, instead she is replaced by the great inventor Leonardo Da Vinic.

The story is about a young girl named Cinderella whose widowed father remarries but soon dies, leaving his daughter with the evil stepmother and her two daughters. The stepmother prefers her own daughters over Cinderella and has her perform all of the house chores. While Cinderella is kind, patient, and sweet, her stepsisters are cruel and selfish. Meanwhile, across the kingdom the King decides that his son the Prince should find a suitable bride and marry and so invites every eligible maiden in the kingdom to a fancy ball. Cinderella has no appropriate dress for the ball so her friends the mice namely Jaques and Gus, and the birds help her in making one, but the evil stepsisters tear apart the dress on the evening of the ball.

The Brothers Grimm, Cinderella - Critical Analysis Description: This dark version of the many original Cinderella stories is by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, better known as the Grimm brothers. Cinderella is about a young girl who sadly loses her mother due to some kind of sickness, her father marries a woman who has two daughters, shortly after her mother’s death. The daughters are referred to as Cinderella’s “false sisters” due to their evil and wicked tactics during the story and also because they are not related to her by blood. Her father gets completely brainwashed by the stepmother and begins to treat his own daughter the same way they do, like a pest.
